Are there any programs out there that as i make back-ups of movies that i can edit out offensive language? I use ANYDVD and Clone and shrink for most of my back-ups...sometimes burning with nero...Thank you very much for all the information AD puts out.

Really suprised that no one has given an intelligent response...I was just wondering if there was such a program out there so that i could watch many of the newer movies with so much vulgar language in it and not be bombarded with the language. Not that I havent heard it all before..but for me, it just doesnt add much to the movie so was wishing I could filter some of it out. Programers.....here's an idea for you! But, for the most part, responses at AD are very helpful.......I get off my soapbox now :)

Edited movies suck. As far as I know, there is no software out there that can filter out profanity or any other objectionable material. There is not really a big demand for it. lol

no, no software that i know of... but hardware... installed in newer tv's called the V-chip.

Wont the Vchip prevent the playback of the entire movie/program? I have a TV with the Vchip, but have never bothered to read the manual, and I cant put my hands on it right now(or much of anything for that matter as we just moved :))

There is a company that does edit movies for content. I cant think of the name but they do the editing of the movies for the airlines and cruiselines.

I know there are Add-ons you can purchase that will filter...but was just wondering if there was softwear that would or could do it too...thanks to all....

@ christ93... no, it wont edit the whole movie, just the language..
but then again, come to think of it, i think it is geared more toward local tv versus movies (of any kind for that matter) burned or original.
the v-chip is accessed through the tv's menu... set up there !

all the v-chip does it stops the tv from accessing certain rated material. it doesn't edit the material at all...
if you have your V-chip setting to G it won't let you view anything other than a G rated movie or programing...
wait for the made for TV ver of whatever movie it is to come out I guess other than that there isn't anything for software.. just hardware

I saw on the news a company that does this. People send their originals in and they edit out the stuff people don't want. Can't remember the name though- some christian group - remember the MPAA is going after them.
Here's link to a dvd player that's filters the movies - any good I have no idea - i like it uneditted!

well, i'm sorry, i don't buy movies for the guys.... now T&A is another story, however... it has always been my opinion, if a movie has T&A at the beginning, its a keeper........

I've always found that the best way to edit movies with too much offensive language is freely available and easy to use too, it's called the 'OFF' button.

Ok..No there is no Editing software on the market that will edit out foul language and offensive or lude actions on movies...
Now..Some real things you can do are...
1. Grow some thicker skin
2. Stop renting movies that contain the filth you dont want, and if you do dont complain.
3. Buy an air horn and hone your reflexes so they are lightning fast.
You sound a little Hypocritical..You want to see the movies with the Filthy language and the obsene scenes but you dont want to see the obscene or hear the Filth...
ok I am done...I know this post might get ripped on but I dont care..I had to post this my conscious wouldnt let me bypass this..

Normally I would agree with those suggestions, but since gramsie is not complaining about the vulgarity but trying to find a way around it, I must disagree. I personally don't find much offensive, but others don't share the same feelings as me...
Since this question was posed not to tell us what we should or shouldn't be watching or listening to, but rather someone trying to cope with what might be more copable for his/her pleasure.
The only way I could think to accomplish the removal of offensive language would be to rip the audio separately, edit the track, and lay it back down on the video and hope it syncs back up. I really know nothing of audio so I will request that this be moved a audio discussion. Perhaps this should have been posted in the digital audio forum.
