Unjust2u:

I just scanned 3 of my SonyD21 and the results were ok. Not nearly as good as Verbatim MCC-004 +16x.

No major errors, just a huge spike at the beginning of all 3 backups from 2 different benqs. These were burned at: 2.4x/4x/and 8x

I still consider those Office depot riteks to be better than the sonyD21's. These are still way superior to my cmag and AML scans.

The 2.4x and 8x were very similar, with quite a few spikes. The 4x only had 1 spike at the beginning and rest looked decent. Still far below the MCC-004 scans burned at 12x. Quite a few PI errors, but no po errors.

These looked half as good as my Yuden000-T02 and MCC-004. Still way better than my cmag and AML scans. I haven't gotten any ritek-r03 OD scans so I don't know how they are. I've been out of them for a while.

They're decent- SonyD21,but no comparison to Taiyo yuden and Mitsubishi +8x media-per my benq burners. They do view ok for now.

Sony dash 8x:
Made in Japan: Sony08D1 and Ty-g02. Ty's showing up recently.

Made in Taiwan: Sony08D1,huh? Same MID code as most of the japanese sony dash 8x! Darn that sony corp!

Sony Plus 8x:
Made in Japan: Yuden000-T02
Made in Taiwan: SonyD11

All the 1x-8x seems to be pretty good, but I've heard posts of someone getting lead data on some of the sony 8x media.

Sony plus 16x:
Made in Japan: SonyD21
Made in Taiwan: ?

Sony dash 16x:

Sony's done it with the dash 4x and dash 8x. My bet would be if they had japanese dash 16x they would still code as Sony16D1.

I've been given austrian Sony04D1,and I bought some taiwanese sony04D1. Huge quality difference between that media.

Yep,if that's a bargain for memorex then I'll stick with my verbs and sony tys for that same price! I can get the Office Depot riteks for 20-25 cents each!

If you want some cmags-same code as most of memosux, then keep an eye out for the teons. You can get cmag quality for half the price of those meosux cmags.
