Hello,

First I would like to say hello, as this is my first post.

I am interested in purchasing a PreMod system in Canada, as the costs for getting it from the US are high.

Does anyone know of any modders that can actual do the work in the Cambridge, Kitchener or Toronto area? Also, do they sell Premod systems?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, and happy gaming!

Thanks for the tip.

The problem is that you can get the PS/2 slim retail for $160cdn. Most of the sites that are recommmended are selling for $250us, which is about $350cdn. That is not including shipping, customs and taxes.

It makes it seem that the mod chip and installation is more than the price of the unit itself.

This is the reason that I figured I would check and see if I can find it cheaper in Canada first. If I can't, then I will order from one of the recommended places.

If I am not allowed to post prices, then I am sorry and will edit reply if needed.

Thanks, and happy gaming!

The problem is that soldering skills are horrible. One time I tried soldering a wire on my VCR and I ended up killing it.

I looked into Swapmagic, but I would rather do the Hardware mod instead.

I guess since the price of the PS/2 isn't overly expensive, I might just purchase one and the chip and try it, else I may try and find someone with soldering skills.

Anyone located in my area with soldering skills?

Thanks, and happy gaming!
