A weird solution popped up yday..hence this post .just wanted to know why this happened.

dwn loaded a movie -both parts-avi file.
played it in wmp-takes time to play first,then a still image comes..it stays,while the timer is rolling,and audios is rolling if i move the slider manulaly then another image comes,but no movement.
Film is complete.
guessed this was some missingcodec.
put file in Tmp anyway..refused to take it.video stream format invalid..it took only audio.
so used gspot to find out ..the prob in video...again no clues..n o missing codecs.but told me that vdeio is WMMEDIASUBTYPE_MP43 and codec is S-Mpeg 4 version 3
tried vcd easy and others also.no luck.
was just about to delete files .when decided to run it thru Nero.
had no hopes at all.
have seen numerous posts..how bad nero is at encodingetc etc,,but this was a movie i really really wanted.
so tried it anyway.
and voila..it worked .burnt my vcds
both parts now ework perfectly..with reasonably good qulaity too

can anyone let me know y this might have happend,NERO worked where none did
(though iam only pleased that it has).or is a normal occutrence and newbie me-didnt know..

hey guys,pl help,...dela,vcd,shoey,
am getting more files with above problem.
and some variation to the problem above,,.
now i have got some movies which have same prob in media player but i CAN encode it in TMP..
prob is ..i have to put in TMp without being able to see whether the file is ok..or its a diff/fake movie..and a waste of time.
g spot tells me all codecs are installed..
shd i try som e other player or instal som e other codec in WMp
