i wondered that if you could delete the psp folder fter connecting it to your computer via usb cable, that all the system data, INCLUDING the firmware, would disappear. Is this a retarded idea?

No, you can safely delete all the folders if you want. You could also format the memory stick if you want to after that. I did the downgrade with my 32MB card, then after I verified that it worked, I popped in my 1GB card and I was good to go. :)

The firmware is stored on a chip inside the PSP hardware, not on the memory stick, so it is completely safe. The only stuff you can lose on your PSP stick is saved games and any music or video files if you didn't back them up.

Oh see i thought that if you deleted the folder on the computer, then EVERYTHING would be deleted, but it instead deletes whats on the mem stick! P.S. anyone who sees the 2.01+ downgrader info thread DONT REPLY TO THAT ONE! I made a title mistake on this one but i cant delete the other one!
