Hi... This guide will teache you to change the bakcgrounds of your PSP. TO do this follow these instrucions:
1)Download PSPersonalize from and the Original PSP backgrounds from www.psp-hacks.com/ pspersonalize-howto.php
2) Open the downloaded file and you will see a PSPersonalize folder, a PSPersonalize% floder and a reedme.txt file.
3) Connect the PSP to your PC and move the PSPersonalize and PSPersonalize% folders into the PSP/GAME folder of your PSP.
4) Once you have done this look for some photos you may want to use as your PSP background. BUT WATCHOUT SINCE THESE IMAGES MUST HAVE SPECIFIC CARACTERISITICS. The pictures must be in Bitmap (BMP) format, whiegh less that 150 kb and have less than 300x170 resolution.
5) once you have found the imabes THAT COMPLY WITH ALL OF THE RULES add them to the PSP Root directory and name them according to the month you want the image to appear on:
01.BMP --> January
02.BMP --> February
03.BMP --> March
04.BMP --> April
05.BMP --> MAy
06.BMP --> June
07.BMP --> Julie
08.BMP --> August
09.BMP --> September
10.BMP --> October
11.BMP --> November
12.BMP --> December
6) once you have done this go back to the PSP main menu and launch PSPersonalize. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THE CORRUPTED DATA. THe Program will recogmize the image and wilol ask you if you want to confirm the change. Click X.
7)After this a Finished message will appear at the top left of the PSP screen. Click Home and return to the main menu and DONE! the Image should appear. If it dosent restart the PSP and the image should now appear.
If you have found an image that is not a BMP but you still want to add it onto your PSP you will need a JPG to BMP converter. Try downloading it from here: http://solidconvertergx.com/bmp/jpg_to_bmp_converter/24 (This is a trial version for 30 days)
Once you have downloaded the program, open it, select the image you are willing to convert, click next, select BMP and the converted image destination, click next, leave the next page as it is, click next and finaly click finish. Once the image is converted click COLSE
When you've finished with all of this, add the picture to the PSP root directory and repeat the proceding.
didn't know you could do that! Still, you will need to comply will all of the image rules and once you have done it, it may not be taht easy to change to the original background again. I really thought that PSPersonalize was the only way.
@mofos... Yes you can... that is why you must download the Original PSP backgrounds. Incase you want to change it to the original background again you just repeat the preceding with the original background and done!
I think there are 3 programs nmopw available which change backgrounds
psppersonalize , pspset and another i cant remember the name it is quite easy to use heres where you find it all. Even the original psp backgrounds. www.psp-hacks.com
