dvdx copy platinum only burning previews

the program said successful burn,but when I play it back,all that copied was the previews and it stops at where the movie should start playing.Any advise would be appreciated.thanks...

Welcome to aD!
Well my advise would be to get some better software:) Since xcopy is outdated and can't handle the newer copy protections try some free progs like dvdfab decrypter (rip) DVD Shrink (encodes) DVD Decrypter (burns). If you have Nero shrink will auto burn with that program.

Then there's the AnyDVD and CloneDVD combo that can handle any movie out there right now. You can try it free for 21 days. It can dl from http://slysoft.com

I tried the DVD encrypter and DVD Shrink like you suggested.I got almost to the end and when I was supposed to click on the backup option,the program quits.It just went off like I had closed it out.I tried it twise and the same thing happened.

What movie are you trying to backup, did you rip the movie first using DVDFab Decrypter not DVD Decrypter.

I used the DVD Decrypter.I was trying to burn the movie Meet the Fockers.This is my first movie I've ever tried(I'm new at this)I had just gotten DVDX copy platinum and it only burned the previews so I tried some advice about the DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink.I'm just really confused.Thanks for any advise.

Meet the Fockers has Sony ARccOS protection on it. Try ripping first with DVDFab Decrypter which should break that protection and then use Shrink. Binkie gave you the link for the guide but here it is again

You can also get the software needed at this site also. If this does not work then as binkie stated try the 21 day trial of AnyDVD and CloneDVD these two programs work on all new protections.

I ripped Meet the Fockers using DVD X-Copy Platinum back then when I did not know about AD nor DVD Shrink. I think Stephanie uses the Simple mode instead of Advanced mode. Ripping in Simple mode sometimes go haywire especially when the drive is having problem reading the disk properly. Sometimes it only copy the preview or just a trailer - take note of the ripping time - should not be less than 20 minutes. I ripped more than 100 movies using X-Copy but now I prefer to use DVD Shrink.

You may want to add dvdfab decrypter to your arsenal. There's alot of movies shrink or xcopy can no longer handle. You can rip with fab decrypter which handles all the new ones than process the files thru shrink.

Yes I do have it together with DVD Decrypter & CloneDVD2 but I still prefer DVD Shrink together with AnyDVD - lesser work unless I want to burn DL.
