i just bought a new dell e-310 with a nec model # nd-3530a. 2.8ghz 512 ddr2. i notice when i encode a movie its real slow. my old dell demension 4400 1.6 768 mb. ram is a lot faster. does anybody answer to this problem.

1st I would check your DMA settings. 9 times out of 10 this is the problem.

i've check the settings, and dma is enabled. another thing is if the movie is not encrypted the encoding is really fast.it seems i have the when ripping an encrypted movie.
