what kind of verbatim is the best to use ex. 8X,dvd+R ect... also how much burn time diff. are we talking about between 16X and 8X

The 8x & 16x I burn all at 4x. If you look around the poll would say burn all at 4x for qualiy.

It depends on which burner you have. The BebQ DW1640 burns the 8x best ar 8x, and the 16x gets the best scans when I burn them at 16x

The best way to see what speed your burner burns best at is to burn several copies of the same DVD at different speeds ... scan the results ...

Ditto that. For example, with my LG 5163D (A104), I get the best burns on the Verb +R 16X when I burn them at 8X. With the newer firmware updates (A105 and A106) many users report best burns at 12X or 16X. My burner is connected via USB so the bandwidth for 12X and 16X is not reliable. Therefore, I stay with the A104 firmware...
