Has anyone had any trouble with the new office depot 16x dvd +Rs. I have been using the older version for a couple of years and never a problem. Didn't even realize they had changed other than new packaging and they have 16x stamped on the disc. Most discs I burn seem to stick in certain spots of the movies. I thought that maybe I just had a bad batch but tried another package with the same results.

Of course you need to make sure that your firmware is up to date to burn the 16x ...

But, while the +R 8x Office Depot discs are Ritek R03 ... the +R 16x are RicohJpn R03 .. both are very good but, since the R03 RicohJpn is relatively new media, firmware could be an issue with your burning problems ...

I've used both types of the Office Depot Disks, 8X and 16X, didn't really like the quality of the 16X (RicohJpn03) much preferred the older Riteks. Be careful how close to the edge you burn these disks, they seem to be edge sensitive. I have since used only Taiyo Yuden and now Verbatims due to recommendations from the wonderful people here at AD. But, would buy the Office Depot again if they would return to the good quality Ritek media. FYI have used 2 Sony Burners for these, DRU-510A and DRU-800a, both are fine with these disks.

Make sure you're not burning those at max speed. This can cause those problems you are having. Set the burn speed between 4x and 8x. The 8x ricohjpns used to be real good (better than the riteks imho) but I haven't tried any of the 16x.

Thanks for your suggestions. I do have the latest firmware for my burner. I've slowed the burn speed down but still have the same problems. I'll try and verify that I'm not burning too close to the edge. I'm really confused that when I make more than one copy I get the pause in the same part of each movie. It's not that big of a deal but what ever corruption is in these discs prevents be from making a backup from these backups.
