I have the same liteon & it doesn't really like the Riteks either. It's why I swtiched to Taiyo Ydeun. But I would unclick the verify option - these discs may still play. Have you tried playing them in the pc or a standalone?
Make sure your firmware is up tp date also - here's a link:

ritek IS very good media, however, i do have a liteon burner, and when i updated my firmware, it no longer liked the G05's
try some + media instead... like the R03's (also ritek)
do you have any error logs you can post, maybe its not the media, maybe it is something else...

its only the G05's ive had problems with, TDK TTG02 are the best ive tried for dvd movies and ps2 backups, i bought the G05's cos they was on special offer. on each burn with the G05's i could see some purple marks on the disc, and the burn looked different, had darker and lighter coloured burn rings on the surface. and i got error messages from Nero saying the data could not be read. i'll stick with the tdk's or ritek go4+3's

if you have an error log from nero, then copy it and paste it here... the log tell all, even your key, so edit that out ...
but if nero is where your concern is, and not the media, then we can get this over in the nero forums !!

I had problems w/ ritek GO3 & G05 before I even updated my firmware. This was right around the time there was an article about how ritek had gone downhill and was over 1 year ago. I know other members here love em I and I tried to use them but gave up and swtiched to Taiyo.
The problems I had with them were exactly what ian2k5 posted. Maybe I just got some bad batches.
@ian2k5
Those TDK TTG02 aren't very good. Glad they've worked for you so far but I'd use the Ritek 03 or 04's instead. Or better yet Taiyo Yuden!

@ binkie... my riteks work, it just seems i cant burn to them no more, after a firmware update..
the only reason i got them was cuz they were free... plus the printables..

Hey free is always good! Don't get me wrong I used to like them and probably burned at least 100 that are still good today. Just ran into some bad patches w/ them - the printable ones for me were the worse and switched. Taiyo has been very good to me so I'm sticking w/ them. I did like the glossy printable surface on Riteks though.

Just making sure - don't want you to go astray on the crap media path!
I pretty much use Taiyo 98% of the time - the rest is verbatim. Though I did run out and had to buy a pack of sony's - not bad though.

I tend to agree since I have the same drive and have also had problems on it w/ the riteks. Love's Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim though - never a problem with those!

My lite-on did not like any Ritek or RiData. I used GO3-5 but I did get some good burns out of them. It was hit or miss. That was my experience with them. Others with different burners love em.
Try a lens cleaner - it is an older drive and the lens can get dusty. If you have Nero try and burn w/ it - even if it fails Nero gives a pretty good log that you can post here and we can see it something else is going on. 2 other things you can check: your connections and make sure your in dma and not pio mode.
I've done at least 500+ burns on my liteon and it's still going strong!

i think i know the problem, my writer will not write to printables properly, cos the G-04's + 5's + R03's are all having the same problem.
i got some ridisc xtreme G-05's and ive used 3 so far with no problems.

Glad to hear your got some burning! Now your next step is to try the printable or non printable Taiyo Yuden - the litey you have will love em! Burn failures on this drive w/ them for me have been zilch.
If your in the US check out this store always having good specials on them:http://supermediastore.com

My personal experience has been bad. I purchased G05 non-printable originally and had no problems. So I purchased the printables. Still had no problems. Scans were low 90's, but acceptable. These were purchased just over a year ago when everyone was ranting about Ritek and how good they were. Well needless to say after seeing one of the above threads, I went back and scanned some of those G05's. Red lined right off the bat. Just over 100 of them all went south. Searched some other forums and saw similiar experiences. I will never buy Riteks again. Especially when TY's really aren't that much more in the -R format. But these are just my opinions. I have seen others that praise Ritek.
***EDIT*** I forgot to mention that all the Riteks I bought were the branded Ridata Riteks since that's what everyone recommended at that time. *** END EDIT ***

naturally, AUThEnTIC Taiyo Yudens (unbranded) are about as good as it gets...many others in the UK often times get the Verbatim branded, Taiyo Yuden produced discs...and now the Panasonic printables since the Verb TYs are no longer in stock...can't go far wrong with all the various flavors of Taiyo Yuden from svp, regardless of "branding"...as long as they are REAL TYs, you will be just fine~ :)
