I'm trying to run world championship of poker 2 using umdemulator v0.8c on psp v 1.5 everytime i load it it freezes and the psp shuts down!!! same thing with devhook!!

make sure you are loading the game with an UMD disk inside the PSP. Maybe you will find your answere here:

i did i have like 2 or 3 games on my stick and they all load perfectly!!!
just wondering if it could be a firmware issue!!

I don't think it is a FW problem... Try loading the game with COPY LOAD in the ISO EMULATION MODE of the UMDEMULATOR. Someone in the linked thread had the same problem as you and he could finally solve it, so check it out!

To get this game to work you need to rebiuld the ISO, but ive said it before its not worth it because it doesnt allow you to save game.
To get it working change 3 prx files
AudiOcodec.prx libtrac3 and mpeg.prx should do it.
I cant remember the person who figured this out but all credit goes to him. Like i said it wont save so your better of getting world seris of poker
