Ok i downloaded dvd shrink and decryptor, but i dont know what to do after. I have the movie copied to my HD, but how do I actually go about burning a DVD. I tried using decrpytor and it seems to fail at recognizing my Fujifilm disk once its in my DVD burner. Plz help me and tell me the appropiate steps and all because its making me mad. P.S. I have Nero Start Smart so if you could tell me how to burn a dvd using that it would be greatly appreciated!

I have posted this a few times now. Enjoy
Here is my unofficial Newbie List on how to burn DVD's:
Caution!!! Do not be overwelmed by all the information that you may incounter when you research the issue at hand.
There are so many different options that you could choose, but first I recommend you take some time to read through the guides that are available on this site, as well as visiting the "Free" Download section on this site.
I will give my brief pointers, but keep in mind that many other people may do things totally different than I do.
First off, make sure you have all the hardware requirements, such as lots of Ram!, Large Hard drive, etc.
Once you have all your programs in place, make sure everything is up to date, including the firmware of your DVD Burner (Check Manufacturers website), and any software updates for your programs.
**I personally started off by using DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter (Free Downloads), and using Nero to burn the DVD. Later, I have used other programs when needed, but still use the above mentioned most of the time.**
For example, DVD Shrink will create files on your hard drive, reduced in size/quality so that you can open Nero to burn/back up the files onto you blank DVD. Read though the guides or search through the forums here to get optimum settings for the programs used.
And really there isn't much more to it than that. Once you do it a few times, it is pretty straight forward.
But there are just a few simple rules to remember. ...Hope I don't forget any :(
- Slow and steady is always good. Try not to burn at more than 4x speed. More speed could mean more errors/skips.
- ALWAYS use good media. I personally use Verbatim, and am very happy with it. DO NOT BUY CHEAP MEDIA. I learned the hard way.
- try to use the "Custom Ratio" in DVD Shrink to bring the overall file size below 4300. Some people have issues when you burn to close to the edge of the DVD.
- Try reseaching "Booktyping" on this site. While the -R DVD's are suppose to be compatable with most dvd players (Not for mine), if you use +R DVD's, you can set your DVD Burner to "BookType" which converts the +R disc into a DVD-ROM... which makes your player think it is playing an original disc, not a back up copy. Once again, check the manufacturers website to see if your DVD Burner is capible of doing this.
- DO NOT USE PAPER LABELS!!! Once again I learned the hard way. I purchased a LightScribe DVD Burner, and am very pleased with the results. The other options are to use the "Printable" DVD's with a compatable Printer, or use a sharpie. Sharpie marker is the cheaper solution, with no side effects, but do not look very pleasing. When you apply the Paper Labels, it is possible that it will not be perfectly centered, and depending on your players sensitifity, may cause skipping.
I appoligize for the lengthly post, but I just wish that someone had informed me about some of these issues when I first started "Backing Up" DVD's. I hope this makes things a little easier. Hope I didn't leave anything out.
Best of luck,
JBurden

If you have a compressed file that is about 4300 MB, that was created by using DVD Shrink. The only thing to do is open NERO, I use the side bar on the left hand side, at the very top is Nero Express. Once you open that, you should get another window which lists the following; Data, Music, DVD-Video Files, Copy Entire Disc, and Disc Image or Saved Project. (Or at least my Nero Version 6 list that)
Option 1
I will try not to loose you here, but I am assuming you have on your hard drive, a folder with the compressed files, located in a folder under the movie name, called VIDEO_TS. If so, given the options above, you should Click on the middle option, "DVD-Video Files". Simply "ADD" all the files from that "VIDEO_TS" Folder, then Click Finished. Click Next, which will bring you to the last screen. Set your Burn Speed to 2.4x or 4x, and Burn.
Option 2
If instead, you are already "Booktyping" your files to DVD-ROM, then you will instead of having all those files in that "VIDEO_TS" Folder, You will have an "ISO" File saved onto you hard drive. If this is the case, go back to those beginning options and choose the last option, which is, "Disc Image or Saved Project". This will bring you to a screen that you can locate the ISO File you saved. Click it, Then Open. Last screen will be the same, Burn Speed and click the "Next" Button, which will let you burn.
Hope I am on the right track. If I am and I lost you somewhere, let me know so we can help you through it. once you do a few times it is pretty straight forward.
Let us know how things go.

Ok. While I am trying to think about this, Have you ever tried to "Booktype" your files to convert it to DVD-ROM. It is very universal for most players.
If you are interested in Booktyping, first check to see if your DVD Burner is compatable and can actually do it, and also, you can only do this with +R Media.
I wonder if that may be causing an issue. What type of media are you using?
If all is good, go back to shrink, and try to reshrink the original files again, but this time, when you hit "Backup" Button, in the first tab, pull down those options. There should be one called "Create ISO Image" ...or something like that. Reshrink it this way, and use Option 2 in the earlier post.
Good Luck,

You Said, Quote: ...it states, no disk is inserted or drive not ready, but there is a disk in my LG DVD-ROM....
You have a LG DVD-"ROM". Am I misunderstanding you? Do you have a DVD Writer? ...or just a reader (ROM)?
Let me know,

hmm... Is your Firmware Up to date. The latest version is "DL13".
You should be able to find it at this link,
http://us.lgservice.com/gcsc/b2c/hpi/main
I am starting to get as confused as you are.
When you are using Nero; You are using the DVD Option, not the CD option, Correct?
Are there any more details that should be told?
Have you tried the Booktype option yet? FYI, Booktyping is the better option for compatablity.
What version of Nero are you using?
Good Luck,

Ok, I got the latest firmware, Nero, and everything, but it still doesn't work. Nero seems to fail at realizing that there is a DVD in the drive. I burned a CD successfully using the same drive and I am able to watch DVD's too. I just can't burn them.

Even when I try to burn a DVD using DVD decryptor is says, "Device not ready (Logical Unit not ready, Cause not reportable) and this happens when I put in a blank DVD. But remember, it reads normal DVDs when I put it in. The media I am using is -R, which shouldn't be the problem because my DVD burner can read that media. Is there any place I can call or should I take it back and get a different DVD burner?
