I?m hoping you can help answer a question but first the history of how I got here?
?I?m not ?too green? with encoders/software but I am a little perplexed by the following??
?I?ve downloaded the second series of lost in on DivX HDTV format. I?ve got 12 episodes of the series and I must say the quality of these AVI files is perfect. The file size of these 42 minute episodes is approx 45 minutes each and around 350MB in size.?
?After I finished downloading I used a program called SpeedDVD which encodes to MPEG PAL format but increasing the size to approx 800MB each, the program then converts the files to vob format in its own little DVD folder ready for burning.?
Still with me?
?So I burned these files to disk 4.7GB DVD-r and played them on my player in the living room ? not good! Ten minutes in and the sound goes out of sequence then pixels start appearing all over the screen. Quality in a nutshell was rubbish. I tried importing both the AVI?s and the MPEG?s into my pinnacle9 ? but the software was overwhelmed by the size of the files?
So, that?s my life story on with my request?
I have these DivX files which are great; I want to encode them to the best quality possible for burning to DVD-r 4.7GB disks. Can someone give me some good advice on?
1. Best Encoder to use to encode ready for DVD?
2. Once I have the encoded files (I presume they will be MPEG) what?s the best method of getting them on to DVD with titles etc?
3. Am I restricted by how many minutes of video I can get on the disk, I mean if I want 6 episodes on the disk can I tell the software that encodes to aim for this? Will I lose on quality?
Thanks for the help?
