Verbatim DVD+RW how many uses?

I have one of these disks and just did a check of my DRU-810A with Sony's diagnostic. It said everything is fine but now the disk is not detected! Can't erase it at all. Says please insert disk.

With my old DRU-500A it comes back with "illegal disk" if I try to erase it.

Before this happened a Sony Technical Rep told me that DVD RW disks only last about 20 - 30 cycles not 1000!

Anybody know anything on this topic or how I can recover this disk so that I can use it?

to recover a disc, try using IsoBuster or CDCheck

I don't think 20-30 burns is true. I only get that problem you have when I interrupt a burning session or when I use the full erase instead of quick erase. I myself haven't figured out how to recover the few that got corrupted that way.
