How can I compress a movie that I sent to my HD using DVD Shrink and then converting w/PSP 9? I have a 1 gig duo and I can only get 3/4 of a movie on it.

I decoded it thru DVD Shrink and saved it into a file.

It would make life handier for u if you downloaded dvd decrpyter. U must rip the movie into a single VOB file (without any of the extras) i think thats why your file is so big. If this is all new to u, u might be better off with pspware it is alot easier to work with, http://www.nullriver.com is pspwares site, u can get decrypter here. let me know how u get on.

In DVD shrink click REAUTHOR now select title1 (main movie) and drag and drop the file to the left hand box then click on back up and ok. that should give u your single vob file.Make sure the box marked split files into 1g chunks is not checked.

Tried that. It got it to 1GB, but still too big to send to the stick.
I have a 1GB stick,but the PSP uses part of it leaving 956MB.
Anything else I can do?

Most DVDs would encode to at least 1gb.
AVI movies would encode smaller

Try encoding to DivX then encoding to mp4.
It might take a while.

When encoding to DivX or AVI, some programs ask you beforehand how big you want you AVI file to be,
700mb = approx 450mb on psp
1.5 gb = approx 700mb on psp

Rite it must be what your doing with psp9, i myself ave movies take return of the jedi (own the dvd) thats a long movie, and i ave it converted to 500megs the picture and sound is top class and i could compress it smaller but it wouldnt be great, so as am not familer with psp9 i cant help u out there, get pspware! am telling ya u,ll ave no trouble, all this stuff about encoding to divx no harm to piecefull but u do not have to do that, thats more work for ya.

As long as pspware is Sync in its audio, ive tried alot of encoders and so far video9 hasnt been out of sync. Sure the other one encode smaller but they talk like its an old kung fu movie.

Yes pspware is sync with its audio, i find thats its a fantastic piece of software very easy to work with if your new to this thing
