Hello i am trying to burn Menace II Society and when i click open disk, i chose the DVD and it gives me Invalid DVD Navigation Structure Error. Im not sure what to do, I have the latest version of ANYDVD running and nothing will work. I also tried Nero Encode and that didnt work either. I used a program called ImTOO DVD ripper to rip to my PC and that worked fine but the problem is that when i watch the movie the words come before they actually say it so thats a total waste. What can i do/use to burn the dvd perfectly??

You will need to rip to HDD first using DVD Decrypter, then process the folder with VobBlanker, then run through DVD Shrink.
Or try ripping first with DVDFab Decrypter, then run through DVD Shrink.

True Fab may work as well but
It also Rips in the file mode which can cause problems, like bad structure errors, if it?s not kept updated?.
DVDDecrypter can Rip in the ISO Mode, that is bit by bit, and not have any problems with missing sectors, etc. because it don?t look at them as files and the file handling routines in windows corrects it once it has been ripped to the HD...
The ISO Read Mode in Decrypter has been overlooked for a long time because all the Guides were telling you to rip in the File F Mode...
Once ripped with dvd decrypter (and anydvd running),
You should have no problems using DVD shrink or
nero recode at that point.
Good luck.

@joeg112
DVDFab was the second option I suggested for you to try and should work just fine. Depending on your system specs it should take 15 minutes to an hour.

Ok DVDFab finished (took about 20 minutes) but when i try to open files with DVD Shrink it says "invalid data in file: d:\dvd\video_ts\vts_02_1.vob" So this is a new error. So i deleted everything that DVDFab has done because it wasnt working. I also tried to go directly to Re-Author with DVD Shrink and that didnt work. So tomorrow when i get home from work i will try what you are suggesting. Thank you to both of you for helping so quickly

joeg112,
Welcome to the forum. Do the suggestion that Jizmak suggested as it has never failed me and you do not need AnyDVD running( unless you just want to use it) in the background. Use DVDDecrypter and Rip it in .iso read mode and then in Shrink go to File> Open Disc Image( find the iso file DVDDecrypter did and click on the .mds file) and now process the movie as you like.

You could've also run the file that DVDFab created through VobBlanker to fix the problem if you hadn't deleted it.

The error message you got"invalid data in file: d:\dvd\video_ts\vts_02_1.vob" means:
1. the VOB file is corrupt or bad
2. the IFO file contains invalid data. The Data in that file must match exactly the info in the VOB file.
As LOCOENG suggested use VobBlanker and it should correct the problem or do as 2 of us suggested and use DVDDecrypter in .iso mode. Either way should work.

LOCOENG,
Never, as your Engine is bigger than all of us. LOL
We are just suggesting to try fluke in Windows to do the movie as you have to do no post processing. If the studios can figure a way around it then we might be screwed except that I do have AnyDVD

Hi all, new to the forums old at ripping (300+), but must still be an amature. I can't get DVDS ro DVDD to do anything when I get the Invalid Nav. error. I haven't tried any other program, and am on a really slow dial-up (bad lines). Is the major difference there iso vs. file?

Menace II Society is a weird, but easy one. You won't be able to reauthor it. You'll have to do a full disc backup. Just rip the disc using DVD Decrypter via ISO mode. There is no need for compression for this one. The ISO file you'll get is big enough for a DVD5 disc.

So any time I get the invalid nav error,(not just that title) I can use iso mode and it will work? 'cause right now I can't even analyze a DVD. It just gives me the error every time I try to open it.

Thank you all for your help, I got it to work perfectly. Sound/Video is working great and thanks for all the detailed help. I used DVD Decrypter to rip to Hard Drive as a ISO and then i used DVD Decrypter ISO file to burn to a disk and it worked great. Thanks alot for all the help.

agwild99,
When you rip the DVD using DVDD in .iso Mode it will read the disk byte by byte . This then somewhat negates ArCoss and then the OS helps you out by correcting the file routines. The error you got means Shrink can not decrypt the movie and needs help. This is why it was suggested that you use the freeware and do it a different way. I think the reason that the .iso method never caught on is because there are limited programs that can take the iso and change it like Shrink can
