Could the original be a bad one? And were you multitasking while DVDFAB was ripping? And YOu could try VOBblanker and see if that helps.

True Fab may work as well but
It also Rips in the file mode which can cause problems, like bad structure errors, if it?s not kept updated?.
DVDDecrypter can Rip in the ISO Mode, that is bit by bit, and not have any problems with missing sectors, etc. because it don?t look at them as files and the file handling routines in windows corrects it once it has been ripped to the HD...

The ISO Read Mode in Decrypter has been overlooked for a long time because all the Guides were telling you to rip in the File F Mode...

Once ripped with dvd decrypter (in .iso mode),
(I also have AnyDvd running but others have told me its not needed)
You should have no problems using DVD shrink on the created image.

Good luck.

I've never used DVDFab so I'll pass on that one.

I usually use the default settings in DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter, they are set for the most common uses and rarely will let you down.

The only thing I do change is the target size in DVD Shrink preferences to 4200MB.

The more experienced users here say that burning too close to the media's edge can cause trouble, and I respect their knowledge and advice.

Apart from that, it's just a matter of seeing what works best for you personally.

@omug

You could raise your target size to 4300 with no problems and reduce your compression a bit.

@dap1680

The latest version of DVDFab Decrypter should work on these titles, it rips similarly to DVD Decrypter in File mode. You must uninstall any previous versions of DVDFab Decrypter from your PC and then install the update in order for the update to be accepted.

Here are some guides to Shrink. They'll take a while to load so just wait:

http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/tutorial012.html

And here is one for Shrink's Preferences:

http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/tutorial002.html

This will also take a while to load.

GlueEater,

Those are good guides at DVDplusVideo.com and I have bookmarked that site.

Thanks

Just a side note; I keep my setting for disk size in Shrink at 4360 without any problems, so it appears anywhere between 4300-4360 would be a good size.

@oneacer

I've seen suggestions for as high as 4380, so I guess it's just a personal preference as long as you aren't having any problems.
