Is your firmware up to date? Is there a disc in the drive when you select a speed?

If you have Nero use the Nero Info Tool Utility and check you drive for the current firmware
Then post back with the information.

It shows you in the Nero Info Tool, there has to be a drive make listed for that letter, e.g. G:/NEC_DVD RW ND-1300A

Simple definition:
Firmware is the brains of your burner. It lets your burner know how to handle different media, burn speeds of that media, etc. Media changes and so should your burner in the way it handles it.
PS: Great job arniebear on your pix's and explanation.

Don't look now, but you've got a shark behind you...LOL Nice new sig.
@mcbruja
Make sure you follow the instructions in the readme file to a tee, a bad flash could render your drive useless.

@ LOCOENG
Look closely... I am the shark, I'm just chasing that Chick! LOL Thanks!
@ arniebear... Thanks also! I felt it was time for a different sig, thought this was better then just having a shark with an arm in his mouth. Love the way the shark is swimming as well. :)
