I use DVD Shrink along with DVD Decrypter and Nero 6 to burn. I was just going through my hard disk and noticed that I have InCD in one of my directories. Is InCD a part of the Nero program because it is in a directory with all my Nero programs. I thought InCD interefered with the burning process. If it is not part of Nero then how did I get it? Also, if it interferes with burning then how do I get rid of it completely. Thanks in advance.

INCD is packet writing, To get rid of it completly uninstall Nero using Nero's Cleantool. Then reinstall Nero but just don't install INCD.

Thanks GlueEater. Firstly, what is packet writing, and secondly is there anyway to get rid of it without completely deleting Nero. Will it definitely interfere with my disk burning if i leave it.

Many users here say that InCD does interfere with the burning process, however I have InCD installed because it's needed as part of the automatic process of formatting my DVD RW disks when I do a system back up using Acronis True Image.

So far it's never caused any problems with my burning, so until it definitely does, in my opinion, don't worry about it.

You could just run the InCD clean tool. That should only remove the InCD entries:

From PC Magazine:
Quote:
Packet Writing:
One of three CD recording methods. The other two are track-at-once and disc-at-once, but packet writing allows smaller blocks of data to be written. Fixed-length packets are commonly used with CD-RWs to make them perform similar to a hard disk and allow small files to be deleted. Variable-length packets are used to save space and are more suitable for recording CD-Rs.
Here are a couple of links as well:

New versions of InCD aren't supposed to cause problems. We generally recommend not using it though. If you are not having problems then you could just leave it alone. Just be aware that it can cause conflicts. It is a good CD program as far as I can tell.
