Hi! I'm pretty new to all of this so forgive me for my ignorance. Can I burn a movie from a rental place (Blockbuster) and is there a protective seal on the disc? Thanks

@Zman
:~)!
We don't need to know where you get your movies from. Copying rentals is not legal. We only "backup" movies that we own.:~)!
For your movie backups, the method suggested by jeanc1 should work on virtually any movie. You can visit the Shrink forum for informations on different methods, for example DVD Decrypter/DVDFab Decrypter and Shrink. These are 3 free excellent programs, very easy to use.

Good luck!

Zman,

Other alternatives that may save you some $$$ are DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, or DVDFabDecrypter Express, these are all free and most of them are on this board for download. One thing for sure, it is a good idea to buy AnyDVD for it is the most up-to-date on encryption, and they will update it for life.

HTH,

Rich

sytyguy,

Thanks for replying! I'm using DVD Shrink and Nero right now but I'm also taking your advice and getting AnyDVD. Can I use it with any other program or do I have to use it with CloneDVD?

To use DVD Decrypter in conjunction with AnyDVD as stated by Olli ->

Proceed to the DVD Decrypter Opening Page - Tools - Settings

I/O Tab - Click on "Elby CDIO-Elaborate Bytes"

General Tab - un-check "Check For Structure Protection"

or use it this way,as the updated said

Note: To use DVDDecrypter with AnyDVD set I/O Model to SPTI or ElbyCDIO.
Set CSS Cracking method to none. Disable checking for structure
protection.
If you want to use AnyDvd with DVD Decrypter, you might want to consider the quote above, otherwise DVDD and AnyDvd might conflict. The same can happen if you use it with DVDFab Decrypter.

I use DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD running in the background, and have been for sometime, with no problems whatsoever.

@sytyguy
It was a suggestion made by the SlySoft guys. I don't think it would hurt to change the settings:~)!
Cheers!

Just multi-tasking alittle too much, and yes the brain did not catch up.
