Im using Dvd Shrink to try to back up Rocky *1976* and when it comes to
23%.. the message: Data Error: (cylic redundancy check) <~ what does that mean and how would i be able to pass ot :) thanks
This error occurs while using shrink when shrink can't handle the copy protection on the disk or the disk is scratched, smudged , dirty, or it's a bad press.
Inspect the disk and clean it if dirty or smudged (clean it anyway), if it's badly scratched or if you've got a bad press, well chances are you not going to be able to get a backup of it so get your hands on another copy if possible.
This movie is old so it should be a breeze for DVDshrink to porduce a backup of it, so chances are if you've cleaned it, it's either a bad press or a badly scratched disk which makes it unreadable. Before you give up on it try this:
If you have DVD decrypter, use it (in file mode) to rip the files to your hard drive, then use DVDshrink to open the files with (use open files tab in shrink, find and highlight the VIDEO_TS folder created by DVD decrypter and click ok/open), reauthor the movie to backup just the main movie only (Title 1) to get rid of the extras. Have shrink create an ISO image that you can then burn with DVD decrypter (mode--->ISO Write in decrypter to burn the ISO image). Burn at 4x.
The other option is to use DVDFab decrypter (it's free), DVDFab is a whole movie ripper so you'll need DVDshrink to open the files with, shrink the files and reauthor the movie as described above.
