Has anyone had any problems with VOB Blanker cutting out/removing bits of a movie or shrinking file size after using it to process a ripped data? I used VOB Blanker (latest version) to process the ripped data from the Movie FLight Plan using the automated process... I was able to burn a good copy. When I went to watch the movie there had been little bits cut out or missing through out the movie. About 15 minutes of movie was missing.??? ANyone else having similar issues. When I ripped with DVD FAB Decrypter movies size on HD was around 7+GB. After processing with VOB Blanker, resulting fiel was 6+ GB. What the hell is going on?

I had it remove about 2-3 minutes out of madagascar. The disk was damaged, and I'm guessing factory defect or mastering error as the problem was in vts_8_2.VOB, the same file that many others had problems with). Vts_8_2.VOB in madagascar is not suposed to have any copy guard (macrovision ripguard is in vts_8_1.vob) and yet several people had problems and couldn't even rip vts_8_2.VOB. After realizing that a couple of minutes was missing, I checked the original, and what do you know, it had play problems and skipped some at the same spot (on two brand new disks). The third time I exchanged the disk at the place of purchase I got one that did not do this.
I am guessing that anytime VOB blanker hits unreadable spots, it assumes that it is copy guard and removes the entire cell (even though it may be scratches or damage causing the problem). It did remove more of the movie than was skipped during play on the original but it was in the same spot.

It almost makes me wonder if it would be a good recovery tool for ireplacable video that is damaged but it also makes me think it might need to be a tool of last resort for backups?
