I got a wierd one for you. I tried backing up Zorro on my father's computer, since its faster than mine. Using DVD FAB Decrypter, and then Shrink. FAB says that it gets to the hard drive, but when I run Shrink, it says that the VTS has invalid data. I try to open the hard drive files also with Recode 2 (just in case it would do better), and it just locks up.

I go to my laptop, and using the same software (identical versions), same DVD original, my laptop gets it done with FAB/Shrink. Whats up there?

Only thing we can think of is that he is getting a software conflict somewhere, or his reader drive is having trouble reading the DVD properly. Any ideas on what to look for?

When updating DVDFab Decrypter you have to uninstall any previous versions of the program and then reinstall the current updated version in order for the changes to take place.

I had already done that the first time. In fact, I uninstalled and re-installed every program he had (DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink, and DVD Fab Decrypter) all to newest versions.

I gave up on it, and just decided to use my computer from now on, because I have no idea what is causing it.

Legend of Zorro has the latest ARccOS protection, so you'll need the help from VobBlanker to PROCESS and filter out any left over craps, junks, dummy cells, fake pgcs or encrypted sectors that DVDFAB Decrypter may have missed.

For more info on how to use DVDFAB Decrypter and VobBlanker, go here http://www.k-probe.com/backup-newly-release-DVD-DVDFAB-Decrypter-...

I made that guide especially for Newbies, and yes I've tested with tons of RipGuard and ARccOS protections and it has proven to work 100% flawlessly.

All you need to do is change the title/movie names only, just follow the guide carefully and you'll be fine. Let me know how things turns out. VobBlanker should PROCESS "Legend of Zorro" easily. I processed my backup through VobBlanker 2.1.0.0 within 12 minutes only.

**NOTE: make sure you TURN OFF AnyDVD or DVD43 that's running in the background while ripping the movie with DVDFAB Decrypter, or when you "process" the VIDEO_TS.IFO file through VobBlanker. The reason I said that because DVD43 and AnyDVD will conflict with DVDFAB Decrypter and or VobBlanker when processing and you may end up with some issues (i.e. unsynchronized vob, short/smaller files (GB), few scenes are missing, etc.)

Good luck!!

I understand, I read your tutorial on The Cave and The Fog (thanks for that). And just using the newest FAB and Shrink worked fine on my computer, without needing to edit Zorro using VOBBlanker. That is because the newest FAB can defeat current versions of ARCcoS.

My problem was that my fathers computer USING THE EXACT SAME VERSIONS of FAB and Shrink would fail, saying invalid data. . . (when attempting to open the files with Shrink). Originally, it had DVD43 running in the background, but I uninstalled that program, and re-installed the newest versions of FAB and Shrink, and still got the error after re-running FAB and Shrink on the DVD.

My guess is that it is either the reader drive causing problems when working with FAB, or some other application in Windows is causing a conflict during the decrypt. In any case, it is above my head, and I don't know how to fix it. So for cases where FAB is needed, I just have to use my slow computer instead of his fast one.
