Hello, I just got my 1gb memory stick pro duo (Sony) from Ebay. I am trying to put music on the PSP but I am having some difficulties. I have converted all the files to ATRAC3 Plus. The memory stick is formatted but when I try to transfer the files to the PSP via Sonic Stage I get an error saying music files will only be played back on devices compatible with Memory Stick Pro Duo. However when I place an MP3 file in the MUSIC folder the song works fine. I have used my 32mb memory stick when I first got the PSP (July) to put a few songs on to check it out using SonicStage and had no problems. Does anyone know what is wrong?
Oh i see, you have to put them in MP3format. this is the only way to play it. I know what you mean though, my 32mb chip would play anything but my 1gig wouldn't. come to find out you can only play MP3.

The only thing is that you have to save your music. and i realy can't deal with that now. My friends say to get iTUNES, but the thing is is that it does not support the psp.or sony for that matter.but if you put it to iTUNES, as my friends told me, it will atomaticly change the music to MP3. but this is what i got so far, if i find anymore i will tell you.
Thanks for the help. Many people use SonicStage to put audio on the 1gb memory stick though. So why is it not working? Sonic Stage runs very slow everytime I put the 1gb memory stick and connect the PSP but runs fine with the 32mb memory stick.
to tellyou the truth i don't know why that it would be going slow. but what i do know is that if you pu in the 1gig chip the psp will not let you play anything but MP3. if you are having truble with the speed of it you might need to go and upgrade sonicstage. but guys we are open for comments or ideas ;)
Take notice of you memory stick, if its PRO DUO youll need firmware 2.0 to play atrac3 of it, if its memory stick Duo you can play atrac3 on 1.5 firmware. Your 32mb stick is just Duo whereas your 1gb is pro duo.
Are you sure it is Actual 2.0 and not just tricked into thinking its a 2.0? I am very very sure of what i just told you b4.
Only 2.0 can play atrac of pro duos.
How are you putting the Atracs into the psp? You need to use Sonicstage to put it in.
