how can I play Pro Evo Soccer 5 on v1.5 firmware?

I've got the original UMD of Pro Evolution soccer 5 but want to play it on my v1.5 firmware PSP without having to upgrade to v2.0. Is there a way to do it without having to officially upgrade?

I downloading something called a 'version changer' which made the game think it was running v2. firmware but after about 5 seconds it come up with the message 'The Game Could Not Be Started (FFFFFED3)'


Any ideas people?

Try updating to 2.0 DO NOT GO ANY HIGHER THEN 2.0 (you wont be able to downgrade if you do this). Some games require codecs in 2.0 not just the psp to say its 2.0

AFAIK, you have no choice of playing the original UMD of PES 5 (cuz i own a copy too and tried several months ago). The only way to play (like what PieceFull said) is to upgrade back to "Version 2.00" and downgrade back to v1.5 to play homebrew and backup ISO.

Maybe you can try to play the ISO of the game, though ive never ripped any UMD before, (I would assume you own the original UMD). I know i have tried the Jap version of PES5 (aka Winnings Eleven) and it works great.

I will try and rip it then... you can use UMD RIPPER 2 to rip all your UMD's, it works great
