Hi,

Having problems making a backup of Doom. I know it may not be out yet or not, but some places sell it early, even though they're probably not supossed to. Anyway,

I've tried using dvd decrypter, and anydvd to burn this, but it just won't go. If I start up anydvd (5.8.4.1 Trial), it will say disc not detected, and it seems like the dvd isn't accessible while anydvd is running. If I disable anydvd and try dvd decrypter, i get an
I/O error!

Device: [1:0:0] HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4163B A106 (F:)(ATAPI)

Of course that's my drive and firmware version listed, which I just today updated to A106. Not sure if a newer version existed, but I couldn't find one. Now, today I also tried this DVDFab Decrypter, after clicking start, it just kinda of hangs, really no signs of life or movement. Then a dialog box comes up saying "Get DVD information fail. 4096

One thing to note, is that the light on my drive seems to be blinking exceptionally faster than normal. I have tried another dvd, and everything worked fine. So I'm running out of ideas here. When I tried oneclickdvdcopy, it spoke of the encryption being present and therefore couldn't burn.

Any ideas?

From Fengtao of DVDFab on your error

Hi,

Error 4096 means: one of .IFO files cannot be read, so DVDFab cannot get the DVD information.

Please try to clean the disc, or the disc is bad and you need to replace it.

Best Regards,
Fengtao

Well it's a brand new disc. Plays fine in my Dvd player and xbox, just having a difficult time reading it with these software's. The computer recognizes it to be a DOOM disc, but maybe i'll take it back.

Thanks

irrelevant posts like this ^^ are pointless. If the movie does suck, your opinion does nothing for the original poster.

I also had problems with Doom. I purchased it and was anxious to make a backup and no matter what program I used Defab, Decrypter, DVD Clone, Shrink, etc, and no matter what background program, Slyfox, CSS+, DVD43, it would not copy. It would stall around VTS File 1.4 and then everything would shut down. Shrink gave the message Data Error - cyclic redundancy check. Wow! If anyone has any suggestions

Chester1,
I did Doom using Pgcedit and when we went to using DVDDecrypter it showed no special encryption that DVDD could not handle on it own. Then used Shrink as the movie was just a little over 4300 after removal of DTS and the Subtitles. I am in Region 1 and the only thing I can think of that is wrong w/ your copy is it is either a scratch at that spot or it is a bad press. There really is no special encryption on it. Suggest you take it back and exchange it.

Not sure why so many problems with DOOM. I used DVD Decrypter then DVD Shrink and was able to burn the first time with Nero Express. Like mentioned previously, it may be a bad disc, or there may be more going on behind the scenes.

@tyfon

Try the newer DVDFab Decrypter to rip the movie and then use Shrink, you may have better luck. There is ARccOS on the movie although the old Decrypter may handle try the more updated program it will handle all the newer protected movies with no problems.

To resolve DOOM; use my VobBlanker method combo DVDFAB Decrypter. No AnyDVD, no DVD43, no hustle, no glitches, always 100% success.

<><><><><> Method A <><><><><>
<> rip the movie with the latest from DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.7.0
<> PROCESS through VobBLanker 2.1.0.0
<> transcode with DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2 or (encode with DVD Rebuilder Pro + CCE SP)
<> burn your final VIDEO_TS or ISO with any of your desire burning engines

<><><><><> Method B <><><><><>
<> rip the movie with PgcEdit using the WIZARD and DVD Decrypter
<> PROCESS through FixVTS
<> transcode with DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2 or (encode with DVD Rebuilder Pro + CCE SP)
<> burn your final VIDEO_TS or ISO with any of your desire burning engines

Nothing special about this movie. Good luck and happy burning!!

There has to be different versions of the movie with different levels of encryption. I've been saying this for months. Some people have trouble others say there were no problems. JM2cents
