This is to CREAKY: How can you close a thread based on what it is "bound" to do? Surely you could use your psychic abilities for more good than on a message board.
At any rate, I am not sure why you chose to single me out along with holleyron in your closing the thread announcement. Is it simply because we chose to go against the grains in our view on even MENTIONING backing up dvd movies?
I believe it is. Which would be completely absurd, and being that I am new here I truly hope you are the exception and not the rule when it comes to moderators on this site.

I may not be creaky, but I do know that he's a good Mod and I strongly deemed that what he did is for the best. It's called prevent from getting out-of-hand with such threads talking about backing up rent and selling blah blah blah etc. is unacceptable.
Obviously, AD has its own rules and we as fellow members must follow these rules.
Just my 2 cents.

Why is talking about something people DO unacceptable? As long as you dont do it, you have nothing to worry about, right? People talk about drug dealers all the time, doesnt mean you are going to go to jail as you arent the one commiting the crime. That is all I was saying in that thread, that it shouldnt be a hush-hush topic. We werent talking about cracks as creaky implied. In the long scheme of things we werent even talking about renting/selling in an encouraging manner, I simply mentioned it to get a point across as we were talking about backing up movies.
Most importantly, my only gripe with creaky is him/her singling me out in his thread closing post. In a thread with 13 or so replies why single out two people? It seems just shy of taking advantage of your mod privilege.

I mean who has the room for it! I on the other hand have 4 CD/DVD binders that hold 1000 DVD's. Let's get real, How many of us will watch the same movie (500 of them) so much that we scratch them! Are we playing frisbee with them or what? Do you go out and make backups of you book Library, and those books will be handle more than your CD's or DVD's!!!!!!
Nobody on this forum cares about the longevity of their DVD's. WHY? Because they can go rent and make a copy anytime they want!

Do you think the 2 above replies is acceptable here at AD? Just read it carefully, it clearly stated/talked about renting and backing up, then selling to make profit. Isn't it (that) considered piracy?
What I'm trying to say is that creaky did the right thing. What he did was to prevent threads such that one before it gets out of control that's all.

You arent me. That is what is wrong with this world today, so quick to label one another. Rather keep things on the low than acknowledge that crime is REAL. And rather than introduce ways to stop it, you'd rather "LOCK" a thread and hope it goes away.
Its sad that a lot of you fail to realize the point I was making. Its also sad that you are getting your panties in a bunch simply because Im strong enough to mention what you deem unmentionable.
It is my understanding that your rules state dont link to piracy, I didnt.
The post asked WHY DO YOU COPY MOVIES AND GAMES> and youre ready to crucify me for an answer that is REAL. Infact, the answer I gave is what started me researching backing up and is the reason I purchased a DVD burner. I thought why pay people for something I can do myself and be on the legal side of things.
If you feel I was giving instructions on how to pirate, you failed to get the message of my post. I was simply stating facts. I also resent the fact of being called a troll because you arent wise enough to distinguish between a the two.
I fully stand behind the message of my post which is, WHY ACT LIKE THINGS DONT EXSIST? In order to create change you must first acknowledge the piracy issues.

I didnt go IN DEPTH, I simply MENTIONED IT. Which is my entire point, why do you all feel its UNMENTIONABLE?!?
Your rules also say discussion about pirated content AND PIRACY is PERMITTED.

To solve this problem maybe people should not post dishonest
bullsh!t about backing up dvd's! That guys asked a question and got an honest answer! Don't ask the question then you will not get and honest question! What has this country become? If you really feel you have been wronged then PM dRD the big admin of the site, but I am sure you will get nowhere. As far as creaky goes he has earned his mod status with a lot of hard work, it is not a paid job it is volunteer, and he has committed much time to AD. Everyone on this site gives of their time to help others who have legitimate problems. If you have a gripe with this forum then go elsewhere people on this site do not have the time for rants that are just put up to flame.

Ive sent a PM to Ketola, I'll send to DRD if that is necessary. This was not put up just to flame. It was a legitamite complaint as I dont see why, due to different opinions, the thread was closed. As I posted above I was WELL WITHIN THE GUIDELINES of this site.
I didnt instruct someone how to pirate, I mentioned that this is what people do. Hell, this site with all the "guides" on how to use dvd decryptor and clone is more of an instruction on how to pirate than me stating the fact that people rent then sell.
I dont have a gripe with this forum, quite the contrary, I have a gripe with users like you and mods like creaky who try to bully a new person off a forum because you disagree with them.
If a "newbie" who isnt afraid to jump right in and express their opinions pisses you off then perhaps you are the one who needs to go elsewhere. And thats a "you" IN GENERAL terms, not specifically to you arniebear. but if it applies, so be it.

Is that an assuption on your part? How do you know what's and whom are legitimate or not? I mean if you READ some of the post on this site, they sound so FRANTIC sometimes that one could assume that they are trying to get something copied before that have to take it back to the video store! I mean if it's your own product then what's the rush, why are you in such a hurry to backup (LOL!) something so fast when it was JUST released on the market; that's my scientific assumption and OBSERVATION my friend! So We do not have a gripe with the forum nor does the FORUM have a gripe with us; individuals have gripes with our honestly, but we have no gripes whatsoever, and if you call defending yourself a gripe, then sobeit. But you should not assume that we will get nowhere because creaky has put some time on this website! We are members just like him and since I've been here I've contribute with my experience Using and Software that most will not acknowledge because it takes no skill to rip DVD's (SUPER DVD COPY), therefore not being able to use their technical language within their post.
For you to assume that if we contact the Admin on this site, we'll be wasting our time is a sign of disrespect, let alone to the new members that may have LEGITIMATE concerns that need to be address with the Admin.

Hey People.. I did not start this thread to cause havoc in the community. I was just curious to understand why some members spoke of having massive amounts of DVDs burned or unburned sitting in their possesion.Collecting, hoarding , copying whatever. Actually I figured I would get more individual replies. I thank the forum and all those who posted for giving the truth about it. Thats what this is about Freedom. I will apologize to all involved in this matter, the plus side and the minus side, see guys we are just like the DVDs + and - , and thats what it takes to make the world go round, a balance of both. My last word on this is go ahead, let Ketola and dRD look into this by all means, but don't call me a bully, that's a term i dislike/object to more than strongly. You asked a question and you did not get the overwhelming reponse that you wanted, guess why! I gave you an honest answer that I know 100% on this forum does or have done.
