I would like to capture certain video segments off of a store bought DVD. Is there a program that allows me to browse thorugh the DVD and capture a segment in mpeg, avi, etc.. format?

I am sure there are many program that will let you do this. The one I have used and am most familiar with is the free DVD Shrink and use the start and end frames it will save it in Video format. If you want AVI you will have to convert.
