Burnt discs with Samsung HT-DS610

I have been burning DVDs and trying to play them on my stand alone. I'm having problems. Here are details:

- Optical drive: Sony DRX-810UL
- Decrypting w/ DVD-Decrypter
- Burning w/ Nero v 6
- Media: Verbatim DVD-R dual layer
- stand-alone player: Samsung HT-DS610

I get no error messages for both decrypt and burn steps. However, several of my DVDs have problems tracking on the stand-alone, and one had a lot of problems at chapter 17 out of ~ 34. Therefore, I suspect there's a problem when the 2nd layer starts. My questions:

- is this the burner, media, or stand-alone? (I've posted this thread in the DVD Players forum because I suspect the player. I've heard great things about my burner and media.)
- if I determined that it is the player, what should I look for in a new player?
- should I be using DVD+R DL instead?
