When I audition the tracks by clicking the play arrow in the EAC track window, the sound is all out of phase and tinny. Is there a playback or audio output option that I don't know about? The ripped audio sounds fine, it's just the audio for auditioning the tracks that sounds weird.

what happens when you try to play the audio CD with another program, such as WMP or winamp...does it sound the same with those, or is it just when using EAC?

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

The sound is fine on everything else WMP, Nero, etc. That's why I'm thinking it might be some EAC setting but I can't find it.

what version of EAC are you using? I have V0.95 prebeta 3 and I just tried playing an audio CD with it and it sounded fine...

It turned out that I needed to check "use alternate CD play routines" in the EAC Options.
