can an external dvd burner hook up to a tv to play movies because it has 2 rca ports on the back. i don,t know what kind of dvd burner mine is but it says hi-speed usb 2.0 on the top and i wondered if it could act as a player when hooked up to a t.v.

From what I know, most of the time the DVD burner has to be made specifically for TV Burning. But try it out.

You did not mention what the brndname was ...

I know of one burner that suppossedly hooks up via computer OR tv, and it is made by Sony. I have seem them from time to time at Best Buy Stores. It goes for about 250. Could that be what you have?

What do the directions say? The directions or the specs on the box should tell you what the equipment is capable of.
