I have successfully ripped and burned around 500 movies using DVD Decryptor and DVD Shrink. Up until maybe 5 or so movies ago I had no problem. Now I am able to decrypt fine but shrink won't even start, I get this message During decrypt I get this message to start off the decrypting I have done a chkdisc on the hard drive and a defrag of the drive to fix suspect sectors and still nothing. This has happened on the following movies Mask of Zorro, Dark Water, Crash, A Guy Thing, and Miss Congeniality 2. Any ideas?

ReRip the HDD using DVDFab Decrypter then run through DVD Shrink.

Get DVDFab Decrypter for free here: http://dvdidle.com/free.htm

When you say HDD do you mean the movie on the hard drive or the original?

Well I put original in my drive and am now running DVDFab. I then will run Shrink and keep my fingers crossed. Is this going to take the place of DVD Decryptor from here on out?

I wouldn't say taking it's place, but maybe half of it's place. Basically DVDFab Decrypter works the same as DVD Decrypter in file mode, but it is only a ripper, so you will still need DVD Decrypter or Imgburn for your burn if you don't have Nero.

Sweet! I am running Shrink now and Nero will do the burn. I am used to just starting Shrink and clicking on the folder Decryptor creating. Will Fab over write DVD files to the same folder that a previous movie was DVD Fabbed to or will I have to get in the habit of erasing a movie files after I Shrink and Burn them. Thanks again

Hi. I use DVDFab on another computer and from my experience it overwrites to the same folder. It will ask you if you want the contents deleted or not. I just let it overwrite and have had no problems.

This works the same as DVD Decrypter (File mode) does only it saves to the same folder each time so, yes it does overwrite any existing files for you, when DVDFab is done open DVD Shrink and click on the folder like you normally do it's contents are the same as what DVD Decrypter gave you.
