Hmm, this is an interesting turnaround in events. Not too sure that Neph would have taken what you said too well, ozzymary.
Ddp is an extremely knowledgable & amiable person. In all the time I have been here he has bent over backwards to help people out. I know for a fact that he or any other mod would not ban for no reason.
To be honest, I think that both creaky & ddp have shown an awful lot of restraint lately towards people.
Personally, I think they are a tad too forgiving. I certainly would not be, which is why I could never be a mod, I would not wish to be one either, OK they get the ban button, but at what cost? THey have to placate people & sometimes get abuse (Neph has a twisted view on this, he sometimes misses it when no-body is nasty towards him! LOL!) I have little patience & can get annoyed very quickly, not as much nowadays, I have mellowed out somewhat, probably 'cos I was 40 last year!

Couldn't agree more with ya Pulsar. Neph had to take a break from being a mod to keep sane. It's no walk in the park.

@pulsar, 'tis true i tend to be fair, though in a lot of threads outside of the dvd forums, ie gaming forums where a lot of the posters are (ahem) young i show very little restraint, those little buggers need discipline

OH and just to try to put this back on topic if the thread still remains open. Look at why this thread is closed. Ppl had a natural place to ask questions about their missing AD comrades and some idiot comes in and gets the whole thing closed down. That is why many good members like jeanc1 quit or get burnt out. It becomes a war zone, and battle takes its toll on you. You get tired of trying to help ppl, and instead get dragged into flame wars, or something stupid like that. So my suggestion to AD addicts and those of us already addicted, take a break once in a while. And get better at recognizing the ones who will only wind up getting banned sooner or later. Turn on your idiot filter. We should all be like the pod ppl in the first invasion of the body snatchers. When we see an idiot trying to take AD down, we all turn and point at it while hissing AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH or something like that.. Not that were pod ppl. Some of us arent even ppl.

He did push it a lot & pleading for his return will not work. Otherwise lots of us here would have no respect for the mods or the rules. Ddp was patient, despite a lot of abuse.
I would be disappointed if he were let back, why have rules etc if people will not adhere?
I do not have much sympathy with anyone who gets banned.

No I didnt ddp. He must be realizing how to use a search engine like everyone does. Im not going to argue, but I just feel since I help a lot of these idiots...ah escuse me....NEWBIES...they should get a second chance. Everybody makes mistakes and its up to noone other than GOd himself to judge people. Yeah know how many times peeps tell me to f off or go fly a kite? I just turn the other cheek and ignore it just the like the good book says. And I feel with all that is banned should be offered fair hand shake and forgiven. :>
