I'm not even sure if this is in the right forum, but I hope it is!

I feel like an idiot for asking, but I really have no idea what I'm doing.

My problem is that I have a couple movies I'd like to burn to DVD (they're .avi and .mpeg files), but they're too large to fit on to a single disk. What program(s) do I use to shrink the files?

what size are the files
do you have any software Nero vision for example ?

In order to burn the files to DVD they need to be converted to a DVD compliant format.

As philraz mentioned this can easily be done (if you have nero) using Nero vision, here is a guide on how to get it done...

If you don't have Nero, then try using avi2dvd, you can find it her at AD. Click on the link to get it as well as for guides...
