I am living in the US. My girlfriend is studying abroad in Spain. I wanted to send her some copies of my DVDs to watch. Can I just copy them with dvdshrink and select "region free" for the region? Will they play over in Spain then?

They should work fine, but largely depends on her DVD player.

They should work as long as her player will recognize NTSC file format which is what N. America's file format is. European is the PAL system, however I believe the players over there accept both.
