Use DVD decrypter in ISO read mode, decrypter will create an ISO image of the files and store it at a location of your choice on your HDD, run shrink and choose file-->open disk image, browse to where the image is located and open it. Use shrink in reauthor mode to backup just the main movie and 5.1 AC3 english audio channel, backup as usual. Have shrink create an ISO image that you can burn with decrypter or nero.

I backed up my copy of Doom with both Recode 2 and CloneDVD 2, with AnyDVD running in the background. No problem with the copies. Check out CloneDVD 2 at www.slysoft.com.

This was a breeze using just AnyDVD along with Recode2. Not a problem. You might have a bad press of the original.

I just backed up Doom last night. There's no need for AnyDVD to be activated. I do have the Full screen and Region 1.
DVD Shrink handled this all by herself. Not even a need for dvd43
What error are you getting on it?
What part of the process is it failing? Initial analyzation/encoding/or burning?
I agree with scubabud.Bum disc, but there might be a big batch of them if you got both copies at the same store.
I'd take that disc back and get another from a different area of town.
You could also disable AnyDVD and try it. Right click on that little fox icon and click disable and give her a go.

If you click on Help and select about DVD Shrink you will see that DVD Shrink is a BOY, not a girl by the Red ?S?. It is a bit smaller since it just came out of some cold water! LOL
