HD Advance 3.0 + Swap Magic 3.6 Questions

Hey all, I recently came into some cash and want to buy HD Advance 3.0 and Swap Magic 3.6 for my PS2.
My question is, I already have a harddrive in my PS2 that was formatted on my PC with WinHip and then I used HD Advance 2.0 to play games, wil HD Advance 3.0 re-format the hard-drive? Also, does version 3.0 boot a God of War DVD5 or Shadow of the Colosseus from a hard-drive?
I used to have SM 3.6 but I lost my disc, can anyone confirm that 3.6 boots Shadow of the Colosseus?

Ive never used Swap magic sorry, but i do use HDadvance 3.0 it will not reformat you hdd again.
I havent got those games so im not sure but HDadvance 3.0 is supposed to play dvd-9
