Hey all, I'm a total newb to all of this soft modding stuff and i have some questions. I know that there are answers all over the web but i keep getting different answers to my questions from the tutorials, FAQ's and threads i've come across, so i figured i might as well ask for answers myself. Well anyway, here are my questions:

1. Can you load backups, apps, emus, etc. through the HDD using just ARMAX and a MC independence exploit?
2. Can i format the HDD without buying HD Loader or HD Advance?

I have a CHUBBY V7 PS2 and im planning on buying ARMAX. Any help is greatly appreciated. THANKS!!!

That made a whole lotta sense... Alot of NONsense!

1. once youve used ARMAX to install an exploit all those things plus many more are possible with the right programs you can load backups, apps, emus, play mp3s, load DivX mpeg4 videos, manipulate HDD partitions and MC management and can add USB support.
2. You can load the exploit version of HDloader thats fully patched so its as good as HDadvance 3.0 for free.
I have a V7 and all i needed was an ARMAX and my ps2 has so many new features, i even have to use my ps2 to rip CD's as i broke my CDwriter on my computer. All files can be found at either http://www.exploitstation.com or http://www.sksapps.com .

thanks for the reply. Helped me a little but i need some clarification:
Once i load the exploit onto the MC and added all of my apps and such, can i load all of my games, apps, emus, etc. through the hdd with just the exploit trigger PSX game? or do i have to create seperate CD's with all of my apps and emus?

a friend of mine has a modded xbox in which he could just turn on, and access his HDD with all of his apps, backups and emus without inserting a disc. Maybe its because his xbox is hard modded with a chip. I'm looking for a similiar method like this but for the PS2 but with just soft modding.

Yep that one PS1 game (wouldnt mind a proper PSX) will load Launchelf or a similar program that has a menu with all the apps you have on your mem card and you can assign them different buttons so when it loads up you have O:Hdloader X: Mp3 player etc...
