New to the forum so though maybe someone could shed some light.

I still use DVD XCopy for most of my backing up, seems to work the best and fastest. For everything else I use DVDDcecrypter and Shrink. Have yet to have a DVD I could not burn. Why is it that some like I never have difficulties backing up a certain movie when others do, theoretically if they both are using the same software. Is it hardware or media they are using or possible a combination of both?

I am amazed that you are able to do your backups using outdated software. The majority of people cannot do newer protected movies using these programs. I have all you mentioned and have been unable to get these programs to work especially with puppetlock protection, which was on The Fog. If they work for you then that is great.

I guess I have been really lucky. I don't have or have tried to burn a copy of The Fog but I will go out and get it and give it a try. I to am amazed that XCopy has done so well. Over the past year it has hit the wall not be able to perform 100%. But overall it works about 80% of the time.
