Hello,

I have recorded several MPEG2 files from various sources (DV, Cable TV.) Now I would like to compress these files and put them on dvds. Some of the MPEG's are as large as 10GB which will not fit on a dvd. I have used graph edit and converted a couple of these to avi but I guess you cannot put a avi file onto a dvd. I have taken a couple of the smaller MPEG2 files and was able to put them on a dvd using nero. I also have ulead video studio, showbiz2, and nero.

I would like to compress these mpegs to put multiple file on a dvd.

I'm not sure where to go now.

Any help would be great, or if you could point me to the correct documentation to get this to work.

Thanks
Troy

Split the mpegs in your video editing s/w. The mpegs are already compressed. Either split by size into 4gb chunks or split by a visible reference point as in episodes. Then author these to burn onto dvd's. A 10gb mpeg requires ~4 dvd's. Compressing an already compressed 10gb mpeg to fit on a single disc is not adviced or practical.

I am in a similar situation. I have a 5Gbyte file and want to store it in a 4.7G DVD. Isn´t there a way to use the same functionality that DVDShrink uses to compress a DVD for me to "compress" my 5G file into a 4.5G one (with a little loss of quality)?
Thanks.
