I am fairly new to burning and have a question about the process. I have DVD43 software to encrypt and decode. I have DVDshrink3.2 to compress, and Nero to burn. I put in my DVD (DVD43 detected it and turned the smiley to green). I went to DVDshrink to compress, and it automatically encoded and compressed. Isn't DVD43 supposed to encode/Decrypt automatically? Basically, it seems like DVDshrink is doing all the work (which takes way to long) if DVD43 is supposed to do the encoding.
DVD43 free is a very good 'free' program' that removes copy protection, and area codes, from most DVDs'
Approximately 18mths ago the program writer of DVD Shink went to work for Ahead Nero, and gave up developing 'Shink'
The fact that it's still in wide use, shows how far ahead he was of the game!
AnyDVD is not a free program, but it's better than DVD43, and the fact that their program writers' are still making updates too incorporate DVD Shrink; shows' ddloopings genius.
I think[?] it's more a becoming used, to what programs you're using; DVD43 doesn't appear to do anything, likewise AnyDVD they both run in the back-ground; only AnyDVD appears to do less... :)
They both allow other programs, (who without them, may not be able to do it) to, rip/burn, and compress files to fit your DVD.
There are too many brilliant guides written, for me, too even try to explain. Here's a few.
Your original DVD is encrypted, DVD43 decrypts it. It breaks the protection nothing more. DVD Shrink transcodes the file and yes it does do all the work. Check out the guides Gringle gave you, you need to know more about the programs you are working with.
Thanks, I do need to learn more, that is why I joined this site, that is why I am asking questions, that is why I am asking people more knowledgeable in where to find this info. I am truely greatful for the help, but it does seem that you both are a little snobish in your replys. "everyone is ignorant, just in different subjects"

Sorry if it came off sounding snobbish, it had been a long day. Just remember "Knowlege is Power" so the more you know the better off you will be. It is better to read about the programs you are installing so you will know how they work in case you do have conflicts with the programs.
