Just backed both of these up. No problems. I used DVD shrink & Nero to burn..nothing else. I know these are not available until 2/14, but I always appreciated knowing "ahead" of time what "woes" certain movies were going to cause me. So just a heads up, that these two are easy backups.

@buffster
well it's good too know that shrink is still able to handle some of the newer movies by it's lonesome!

thanx, i was concerned if Shrink was going to be able to do Zathura because of the Sony encryption.

Did you do full backups or movie only?

full back up. It is the strangest deal. My HP dvd drive would not "play well" with Clone2, so anytime I wanted to back up a movie like Sky High or Madegascar< I would have to get someone else to do for me, because Clone2 was the only program that seemed to work on those two. So I went out and purchased a external Plextor(which I LOVE LOVE LOVE) so I could use Clone2, I have only had to use Clone2 on 2 movies so far since I got the Plextor, now that I have it..LOL!I found what works so good for me, is to let the HP drive do the reading and the external plextor do the burning...both together are SUPER fast...anyway thats my story...and I'm sticking to it(LOL!)

Good deal - this should help with next weeks new release posts! I mainly use AnyDVD and CloneDVD (no probs w/ any drive) but I sometimes like to play w/ other progs if there's something 'special' on it. Now I know I won't have to :)

Personally, Anytime I run into a problem with DVD Shrink ripping a movie, I like to use the latest version of Fab Decrypter with AnyDVD running in the background. After I rip it to my HD, I 'Shrink' it and then burn it with Nero

This is from the Saw2 thread:
Quote: i am having problems backing it up, i tried to use dvdshrink and dvdfab but i still having problems.
it gives me the error "get dvd information failed" with dvdfab
dvd shrink gives me the error message "cyclic redundancy check"
can someone please point me in the right direction
Now why is this guy having trouble with this "easy" movie????

I got Zathura to work by Using AnyDVD to rip it to my hard drive, then I used intervideo dvd copy to write it. I tried using intervideo to do it all, but it wouldn't play on my dvd player. I hope this helps.

Zuthura was an easy backup. Just shrink/Nero...backed up without a hitch. I mean you could have gotten two original bad discs, but that seems really unlikely. Are you sure its not your media or your burner? I had some major issues with several movies, but since I purchased my Plextor last month...not one problem.

I get this error when there is a smudge on the disk (like a fingerprint). Just clean it with a damp cloth rubbing from the center out to the edge. Do not clean in circles. I don't remember where I read this, it has something to do with the way the disk is manufactured and the tracking, anyway it seems to works.
