I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I seem to get my best info from this forum so I thought I would give it a shot. Just wondering if anyone who has downloaded Virtual Clone Drive had any problems with performance of their HD or components. I was going to download it but got a message about the software not being Micro$oft Logo certified or whatever. I understand the importance of compatibility and not letting my HD get infected or have slow processing. This is why I just was looking for any responses....Good or Bad. Thanks.
Your worried about the logo certification? I've passed up that warning before, and nothing ever happens. I think that certification is as much a matter of politics as it is science. If you're worried, be sensible and have backups of whatever you may need.
I'm not too worried about it, I agree that it is all politics and that M$ wants us to buy only the products they approve. It's all about the money. Anyway just wanted some opinions before proceeding. Thanks
The Microsoft WHQL certification just means that the company submitted the driver/program to MS to verify that it works with XP. Feel free to totally disregard it.
What exactly does Virtual Clone Drive do? I have AnyDVD and CloneDVD2, but never installed Virtual Clone Drive. Should I use it or just not install it at all?
This is the info I found on the Virtual Clone Drive.
http://www.cdr-zone.com/software/virtual_clonedrive.html It's another Phantom drive application to make your computer think you have a cd/dvd rom drive when it's actually just your hard drive. For burning movies, You really don't need it (unless you don't have a dvd burner yet).
