Hi
I have a generic DVD+ RW burner and I normally burn DVD+R with Clone DVD on it.
I am interested in burning Dual layered DVD and want to know if my DVD RW burner will be able to do that. This burner is over 2 years old.
Thanks

What is the make and model of your burner, that would probably help in the determination factor?

Rich

Hi there,
Use little tools like VSO Inspector, DvdInfoPro.
It will tell you what firmware revision is installed on your drive, and what it can and can't READ and WRITE !
Check here for the latest version for your drive, depending it's a retail drive or an OEM drive.

arniebear,
Unless I am reading that incorrectly, your pic says it writes both DVD+R DL and DVD-R DL, and reads DVD-R DL. My info says no.
What's up with that?

Rich

You aren't reading it correctly you will see that there is no green arrows in the checkboxes. Here is the Decrypter readout

I guess I am color blind also, for I see green arrows on the Nero info tool.

Look to the right of the media and you will see that there are no green checks for DVD + or - DL meaning that the drive cannot do this type of media.

I know I am not going blind, but the places where you indicated, DID IN FACT have the check marks, exactly where you pointed.
Hey, I am not trying to create an argument here, but seriously they did have the check marks, in fact, when I received the email notification I did not open it, I just refreshed the screen (I was still on it showing the Nero info), and low and behold the check marks disappeared, and your brillant (seriously, I mean that....I love how you make a picture worth a 1000 words) annotations.
Best regards,
Rich

The Nero image looks so cool and like Rich said 'A Picture looks like a 1000... or something like that' How do you take a snapshot of a picture like you have done in Nero and post it on a forum, what application and how, Arniebear?

I use a program called SnagIt, and then you host it on an imagehosting site. I use Photobucket, you can use the site for free but only so much bandwidth per month. You post your image then insert the img in your post. You must change the uppercase IMG in the brackets to lowercase img in order for it to work on AD.
