keep receiving a message that it is protected.It is doing while using dvd shrink w/ dvd decrypter.

That is really not enough info. Can you tell us what are you doing, what software are you using to Decrypt...

Rip with dvdfab decrypter (a ripper like decrypter) than process the files as usual thru shrink. Here's a link:
