Plays only on my Toshiba SD-P2600, but not on my laptop's Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-K12D [CD-ROM drive] (InterVidoe WinDVD 5 shows black screen w/no audio), or even on my LiteOn LVC-9006 VHS-DVD recorder (invalid disk prompt).

While DVD Decrypter does do its thing, I still can't get it to playback using my laptop's InterVideo WinDVD 5 (OEM version) player.

I don;t know how to try to burn it as the only buring app I have now is Click to DVD and it keeps telling me I need a iLink device connected. That app seems to only want to link to a camera as it doesn't seem to see my USB linked external rewriter.

Suppose I need Nero or something else? Or maybe I just need the manual so I can correctly tweak Decrypter? I lost out on copying Decrypter's guide before M & S put the kybosh on things and am not finding a site offering a guide.

Odder yet is that while my Toshiba plays this DVD, nothing else I have will play it and weirder yet, DVDIdentifier won't ID the disk.

Grrr.

Oh ya, the movie's "Hair, There & Everywhere" by Coast to Coast Video and its looking like these guys are serious about making sure they don;t lose out on selling us the same thing just because it gets worn out after about 5 plays! No serious scratches, just a lot of light ones my friend seems to have graced it with.

it could be the discs or the burn speed you are using. what brand of discs are you using & what speed do you burn them at?
there are severla options to get past the copy protection. you can use dvd decrypter/ dvd fab decrypter & DVD Shrink. VOB BLANKER DVD43 (these are all free programs that can be found with a google search.)
or you could use clone dvd & AnyDVD form slysoft.com these are not free but will back up almost every if not every disc out there & are well worth the money, slysoft give you a 21 day trial on both programs. try using some of the above software as i am sure this will allow you to make back ups (there are various user guides on the afterdawn forums for all thes programs)

make sure you are using quality media & do not burn at too high a speed. again there are various forums on here to recommend good brand media.
i hope this helps

Oh man, I found a post right that did the trick right here on the forum ,(http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/79846) and the part of the string where it says...

do your disc with DVD Shrink, when it comes time, click backup,
where it says select target device, hit the drop down box, and click, create iso disc image. Down at the bottom of this window you'll see a box that says launch DVD Decrypter, tick that box, and when shrink is
done doing its thing, decrypter will open up and burn your disc

And as it was an old post using an old Shrink, I eventually got it to work by teaking the instructions to this...

"select backup target", hit the drop down box, and click, "create iso disc image and burn using DVD Decrypter".

At first having used my LD rewriter to read the DVD and having already placed a blank in my f drive (Pioneer), I saw an error saying Decrypter's bottom most window's text said "Device not ready (incompatable medium installed)" and so I simply swapped out the original DVD with the blank, used Decrypter's dropdown to change drive from F to I and presto, Decrypter then recognized the blank and then all I had to do was guess at clicking on the disc icon (next to green arrowhead) and things completed w/o a hitch.

I used 4x just ot be safe and rule anythign else out if it wouldn;t have worked, but to my joy...

Thanks for the reply anyway.

Now all I need to do is figure out what Sony and Pioneer have done to my F drive so I can get it working, or maybe Decrypter requires the swap out (I doubt).

So if any other replies/advise, I'd still appreciate the added hopeful joy.
