Using DVD X Copy Platinum 3.20 . When burning a copy of a DVD> I load movie into DVD Rom drive and blank writable media in the DVD RW drive. I thought I was burning from Drive to drive but I had to let it write to hardrive first and then write. it takes 2 hours. Can this program direct copy from disc to disc? How?

Copy on the fly, you mean? It can be done, but the coaster potential is very high... I would recommend sticking to the conventional methods, good quality media, low(ish) burning speeds etc...

If it ain't broken it doesn't need fixing...

Thanks for the input and I got a good laugh at the coaster reference. First i heard of it.

So two hours to burn a DVD is average ?

Well, i can do a copy with Clone DVD2 in about 40 minutes... Sometimes a bit less, sometimes a bit more, but that also depends on your machine's fire power... When i do my backups i turn everything off, including my net connection, firewall and anti-virus... I also don't touch the pc while it's doing the job...

That seems long, as though you might be in pio mode rather than dma mode. Also what do you have for a system and what is running in the background?

My system is adequate but I was multitasking way too much. I was scanning 35 MM negatives at the same time and that was obviously my biggest problem./ I successfully copied my Longest Yard DVD earlier so I got that down now.
Thanks for your help guys
