Sounds like you need to try AnyDVD. It has a 21 day free trial. $39 after that. Best $39 I've spent! They have a deal for buying AnyDVD and Clone DVD at the same time. Well worth the money. With these two programs, you can backup about any movie that's been made, so far. You can get them at http://www.slysoft.com/en/download.html

I am also having some problems with Stealth.
I actually managed to store it in my HD using DVD Decrypter while I had AnyDVD running.
Then I re-authored it with DVD Shrink (got rid of all the menus and extra features) and burnt it. But now that copy that doesn't seem to work very well, especially towards the ends, where the DVD player just stops working. I've tried the disk in three different players and the same thing happens.
By the way, I included the DTS audio track in the copy that I burnt. Is it possible that this audio track is the one causing all the trouble, or is it something else?
Any ideas on what I should do?
Thanks!

It sounds like the media you used. What brand did you use? You can also reduce the target size in shrink - burning to the end of the disc on poor media can cause playback problems. Set it to 4360. In shrink go to edit>preferences. Click on custom and type in 4360.
Does the disc work and go to the end in your pc?

I used a Fujifilm DVD+R to burn it. I have never had any trouble with this brand.
And, no, the DVD doesn't play in my PC either?
By the way, I tried to follow the steps that another poster recommended when burning The Fog (using DVD Fab and VobBlanker) but it didn't work either.
DVDFab just couldn't get through the disc.
I couldn't find any specific threads about burning Stealth. Is there any in this forum?
Thanks a lot!!!

kui2338,
Thanks for the suggestion, but that's exactly what I tried to do in the first place and it didn't work.
Did it work with you with Stealth?

Thanks for the info and for the quick reply, binkie7!
To answer your question, Fab Decrypter didn't really give me an error. It just didn't get through the DVD.
I let it work for more than two hours, and it just wouldn't move forward. The program seemed to be still running, and the green light in the DVD drive was blinking, but it seemed to be stuck somewhere.
Anyway, what I did was to use DVD Shrink with AnyDVD in order to analyzed the DVD, and it did it without any problems. Then I re-authored it to get only the movie, without menus or extras.
I have stored all the files in my HD, but I haven't burnt the DVD yet, since I am afraid that the same thing as before will happen (it will burn a defective copy).
Now my question is: how can I make sure that the files that are currently in my hard drive don't have any files that will spoil the DVD?
Will VobBlanker 2.100 do the trick? I have never used it before. How does it work?
Thanks!

Vobblanker is pretty simple. With this method it will remove any junk files. Ist make a new folder where you to store the processed files. Then open vobblanker in input video manager select the video_ts where shrink stored the movie. Next in output folder click on the newly created folder. Then down the bottom click process and let vobblanker do it's thing. Once done pick the video_ts under the folder you created for vobblanker and burn.
Still make sure your drives firmware is up to date.

Yes... it is true that STEALTH has the latest ARccOS from Sony, but it's a piece of cake with my "VobBlanker + DVDFAB Decrypter method" under my sig. I did STEALTH last month by ripping the movie with DVDFAB Decrypter and processed with VobBlanker 2.1.0.0 as usual (as the 1 = input, 2 = out put, 3 = PROCESS) as described in my "VobBlanker + DVDFAB Decrypter in THE FOG) and it processed through smoothly.
I can probably write another real good guide with pictures just to PROVE that DVDFAB Decrypter and VobBlanker did killed STEALTH easily, but that is just a waste of time only, in the end. The reason why I said that is simply because I use my very own method and it worked 100% flawlessly.
Honestly, I don't know why some/half of members are having so much issues ripping the movie with DVDFAB Decrypter or while "processing" the VIDEO_TS.IFO file with VobBlanker 2.1.0.0? I clearly told you guys (or them Newbies) NOT TO RUN/USE AnyDVD or DVD43 in the background because AnyDVD or DVD43 or any other cracking engines will only conflict with both DVDFAB Decrypter or when processing the file through VobBlanker. With that being said, your chances of getting a successful rip or process with VobBlanker is pretty much slim because you have AnyDVD, DVD43 or other cracking engines that's running in the background, and that will triggers it's decrypting engines to fight with DVDFAB Decrypter or VobBlanker. Therefore YOU ARE LIKELY to end up with some kind of errors like "unsynchronized VOB, smaller files (GB), some scenes are cut off/short, DVD Shrink can't recognize the file, etc."
C'mon guys... I've been using VobBlanker and DVDFAB Decrypter over 5 months now and I have YET to see/come across any dvds/movies that both DVDFAB Decrypter or VobBlanker can not handle/process. You name it.. and I really mean it, name any dvds/movies that you're having hard times ripping with DVDFAB Decrypter and or processing through VobBlanker, and I'll tell you that it's a "success or failure".
Seriously, I've successfully ripped and backed up not just THE FOG, The CAVE and Madagascar only, but also SKY HIGH, STEALTH, Valiant, Brothers Grimm, The Great Raid, Red Eye, Dark Water, Doom, LEGEND OF ZORRO, Half Light, Wedding Crashers, 40 year old Virgin, etc., or any of the latest new released without any issues whatsoever.
Best of lucks to all and happy burning!!

@Alkohol - hi there (again) - moved my post from the shout box to here now, hoping u have a logical answer for my unlogical prob :-)
I used DVD FAB has instructed and it only made a file of 1.92GB instead of over 7GB or 4.7GB - I don´t have any other programs running in the background and I re-did the job twice already.
Using DVD Decrypter and unmarking the first 1 to 23 cells of Chapter1 I get a file of approx. 4.8GB which seems the correct size just for the movie. So where is the part I missed on out?

@RN_Rico
Extremely IMPORTANT here: make sure you DON'T RUN AnyDVD or DVD43 or any other cracking engines on the background when you ripped the movie (STEALTH) with DVDFAB Decrypter. The same thing apply to when you're "processing" the VIDEO_TS.IFO file through VobBlanker 2.1.0.0 because if you had AnyDVD or DVD43 running, its decrypting engine will fight with DVDFAB Decrypter or VobBlanker when ripping and processing, and you're more than likely to end up with issues like unsynchronized VOB, short/smaller files (GB), missing some parts/scenes, etc. My suggest is TO TURN OFF AnyDVD, DVD43 or other cracking engines that's running in the background and it will be fine.
Out of curiosity, is the dvd (STEALTH) dirty, badly scratched up, etc.? Because that maybe the issue you're having as well. Try to replace/exchange for a new one to see if you'll get a success.
I've never experienced any issues with any movies/dvds. STEALTH shouldn't be hard to rip using the latest from DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.7.0 or the latest 2.9.7.2, here http://69.73.173.59/download/DVDFabDecrypter29.exe (if you haven't done so).
To be honest, I've never seen any movies/dvds that DVDFAB Decrypter and VobBlanker can not handle, regardless if it's ARccOS or RipGuard. I backed up STEALTH using my "DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker combo method" and it worked flawlessly. Here's what you need to do:
<> rip the movie (any movies) or STEALTH with DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.7.2 to your hard drive
<> open up VobBlanker 2.1.0.0 - set your input, out put, then PROCESS the VIDEO_TS.IFO with VobBlanker
<> transcode with DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2 as usual
<> burn your final VIDEO_TS or ISO file at your desire burning engines.
*NOTE: (1) input = where or this is your already ripped VIDEO_TS file that is done by DVDFAB Decrypter, (2) output = created a new folder and a VIDEO_TS sub-folder on your hard drive or desktop and (3) PROCESS... that's it, just sit tight and wait, VobBlanker 2.1.0.0 should be done shortly (10 - 12 minutes).
For more info on how to use my "DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker method", follow the link under my sig. Or you can try my new guide "DVD Decrypter & PgcEdit" by Alkohol under my sig.
Best of lucks and happy burning!!

Thanks for all the feedback. I just have two questions:
-Has anybody ever burnt a DVD without any apparent problems, and then the DVD wouldn't play correctly due to some hidden anti-copy devices that the DVD copy software didn't get rid off?
-Has anybody ever burnt a DVD with DVD Shrink keeping the DTS audio track? Does it work? Or does DVD Shrink have trouble backing up stuff with DTS sound?
Thanks so much!

For question #1 - not to my knowledge & I've never had a problem like that. Playback problems are usually due to media used, burn speed, optical lens need cleaning in burner and/or standalone.
For question #2 - Yes I have backing movies w/ shrink keeping that audio. No problems. More compresson may be needed keeping it.
What playback problems are you having?

I finally burnt Stealth. The copy works just fine except for the first ten seconds of the feature. Before the columbia logo comes out, the DVD player slows down and stops for like 10 seconds until it keeps going. The rest of the movie seems to play just fine... so far.
By the way, this problem doesn't happen with my PC, only with my regular DVD players.
I've never seen this happening with any other movie that I have backed up before. And I always use the same software, computer and brand of DVD.
Actually, I have made a back up of another movie today as well, and it plays without problems, so I really have no clue of what the problem is. But I pretty much got it done, so it?s no big deal.
Again, thanks for your help!

Alkohol,
- What are your thoughts on usinf fixvts versus vobblanker?
- What do you see as the pro and cons between the two programs
- Think I read somewhere that fixvts was better suited for across.
Thanks

To be honest with you, I've never ran into any dvds/movies that VobBlanker can not handle, regardless if it's ARccOS or RipGuard protections. VobBlanker has never let me down, it has been proven to worked 100% on all ARccOS and RipGuard's craps since the first day I'd ever laid my hands on this useful program.
FixVTS & VobBlanker? Actually, I've used both and they're both good to its own degree. However, I prefer VobBlanker simply because I can blank out those 2 annoying fbi warnings, plus I can preview/play any VTS and blank them out if I decided not to keep them.
<><> FixVTS PRO <><>
<> process craps a little faster (possibly by 2 - 5 minutes depends on computer specs)
<> comes with PgcEdit Wizard
<> really easy to use
<><> FixVTS CON <><>
<> can not blank out anything
<><> VobBlanker PRO <><>
<> process & filter out craps, junks easily
<> can blant out FBI Warnings, any unwanted VTS, scenes, etc.
<> can preview, play and cut out any unwanted scenes
<><> VobBlanker CON <><>
<> I haven't seen any flaws with this powerful tool, except it takes a little longer like 10 - 15 minutes to process craps that's all.
Quote: Alkohol,

Honestly, I haven't use the latest 2.9.7.2 from DVDFAB Decrypter yet, so I can't comment on this. I know DVDFAB Decrypter is one of the greatest free ripper at the moment and I primarily used it to rip nearly 95% for all of my backups. The other 5%, I used PgcEdit plus it's PSL plugin Wizard + FixVTS via DVD Decrypter.
Again, I haven't tested out the DVDFAB Decrypter's latest version (2.9.7.2) to see if it can "completely" decrypt all of ARccOS junks, but I know that 2.9.6.8 & 2.9.7.0 still has troubles with DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2, even if you've successfully ripped the movie into the hard drive. When trying to "transcode" with DVD Shrink or Nero Recode, it still has the dummy (fake encrypted) sectors of "not compressable, red bar, file is too big to fit onto a DVD-R or DVD+R disc.
So in reality, it's good to have 3 of them; DVDFAB Decrypter (a powerful ripper engine), VobBlanker (powerful craps cleaner) and FixVTS (another powerful craps cleaner). Afterall, they're all FREE and it's very easy to use.
Good luck!!

I really think in the desire to get "FREE" software, so many complicate their lives terribly.
Not supporting software companies who create software that helps us, is not a help. Or people who use "free" software or "donationware" and never donate, hurt the cuase as well. If you want some talented people to focus on writing great software, they need to get paid for their time.
There is fighting for fair use and the ability to backup your media, and there is just being cheap and selfish.
Simply states software mentioned here from Slyfox is fantastic and is always being updated, it is the best I have ever seen.
To follow that with CloneDVD II works GREAT. Besides, there is a discount with Slysoft for Afterdawn users.
I also have used Slyfox's AnyDVD, while I used Nero products like Recode II. The output if fabulous.
Think a little bit, save hours and hours of frustration trying to save $15-30 or so and get products that help and let those who write that software keep earning a living, and allow it to get upgraded, participate as beta users and help the cause.
