If you did not order that yet, here it is in black for 39.99 with free shipping.

http://meritline.com/cd-dvd-510-holder-wallet-holders-black-ehj51...

I started using mine and have to say this is the way to go. I am sure that once it is filled up, it will be a little on the heavy side, but I don't plan on moving it around that often. If I do, both handles should carry it just fine.

personally- I prefer Dvd cases Either Slimline or full size stored in dvd/ racks- vertically of course- Have nothing against wallets for cd's but rather not use them for DVD'S other than racks & cases I think I would go with the product mentioned here http://www.supermediastore.com/cd-dvd-storage-case-aluminum-metal...
but that's just me! But then I like Printing dvd case labels too ! The Book's 'er Wallets Well not knocking those who use them in anyway ! but You need to look for a few things - well made - quality materials so it last - It's got to have a quality Zipper cause that's what's going to break 1st. if it isn't ! The pages, leaves ! binder sheets or whatever you like to call them ! Must be tight enough to hold the media/disc and loose enough so you can remove it with out damage to it or it's pocket on that page ! if they are too loose your disc will slide around and out of their pockets and then you have a bunch of loose dvd's or cd's bouncing around loose and into one another when you move your wallet around ! (CAN WE SAY REALLY FUBARRED DVD"S BOYS & GIRLS? !!!!!) Another thing is that if the really cheap ones The sheets break down over time and stick to your media ! also depending on what the pockets are backed and lined with? the area the readable side of your disc rest on . The backing can be rough and scratch your disc ! or attarct and hold Dirt & debris & scratch your disc ! But like I said that this is just my personal preference & OPINION ! It's not law or religious doctrine ! I use wallets myself for cd's so I do understand their utility ! But like everything else it boils down to use what you like & use what works for you and always ENJOY !!! happy burning Buddies @

wallets are just a temporary solution for me...i'm gonna get a few of those 510 metal cases from meritline...sometime :p. The wallets falling apart isnt a problem for me...but a wallet thats got a few hundred dvds in might put alot of weight on the dvds...so i dont know if that will damage/scratch them over time.

Just store the wallets bookstyle on their sides and there is no weight on the CD they are hanging.

@ BIGTOXY69

1st off you can take the sleeves outta the aluminum 510 cases, and put in the slim jewel cases, having double the protection, and having alot in one spot. Making it easier to move around.

2nd I also have about 80 slim jewel cases, but I have read they also have a weakness, its hard to explain if I find out where and what I read ill post it, so I wont even begin to explain.

I understand pretty much everything has there + // -'s. But will see how the aluminum cases go, should have it with in the week.

I have the silver aluminum colored one from Meritline and I like it just fine. As a matter of fact, I have spent the last 3 hours taking the dvds out of the slim line cases and putting them in the sleeves. I'm glad I don't have a gazillion dvds (yet) like some of you guys.:) I got mine a month or so ago when there was a $20 discount and free shipping. Contemplating getting a black one for my son.

I use slim CD cases and I print a 1/8" white label that runs along the side/spine. I just bought a pack of blank stick labels and I can print 200 1/8" strips per sheet. I just used Excel to create the borders, and typed the title in each cell. I'd show you a picture but then you'd see what cheesy, sappy movies I own. ;)

Just ordered one of those black Meritine 510CD/DVD cases. Although, I think that site has an error in it's code. When I selected shipping I chose 2nd day air instead of the free ground, but it still gave it to me for free. My only complaint is that I didn't put one day shipping instead. :P

EDIT: Turns out they did charge for the shpping, I just misunderstood how the site worked.

Hey all

I just received my 510 case, it'll take awhile to put the sleeves in and put the discs in, cause the sleeves all gotta be pushed over a bit where it hangs to go in. The lock was tricky a bit but I get it now. So overall its very nice so far, ill get back to you when I get my discs in it. Probably later on in the day, ttyl~ Storm~

I have noticed with the Aluminum 510 cases, when you insert them or remove them from the sleeves inside the case, it will leave very small skinny scratches, has anyone else seen this happen and does it affect the discs any. I would imagine if you removed them and watched them alot and put them back using the sleeves it would start really messing up the discs, if it doesn't right away. Please check into this, take a couple out and see if it leaves small scratches on the disc.

Thanks Storm~

I was @ office depot few days ago and came across something like the aluminum case @ supermediastore.com. The link is below, the file folders also come in packs of 100, I didnt see those until just now online, while looking at it, the 100 pack is 10$.

http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?level=SK&id=165034&D=cd+++dvd...
Vaultz 2-Drawer Vertical CD Cabinet, 14 3/4"H x 8"W x 15 1/4"D, Black^

Vaultz CD File Folders, Pack Of 50 ^^

As to the post I posted before this one, my concern is with the aluminum case from sms.com, when you remove the discs they get small scratches on them. So my question is now, this case from officedepot is also quite nice. I would have to see the file folders up close to see how they are with removing and putting in the discs to really judge which case and filer would be better. This case from officedepot.com also has one with 4 draws each holding 165 in each with the file folders, all for a 110$ or so. The case from officedepot.com holds 660 with the file folders only holding 1 each, unlike sms.com holds 2 on each sleeve, which i dont like putting more pressure on them, so i only use 1 per sleeve so im only really getting 255 using the sms.com case. The officedepot case = 110$, and sms.com = 50, so the officedepot.com sorta wins on the money // holding ratio.

So I hope you all fully read this, and comment on this, and check it all out. I might go check out the officedepot case out tomorrow.

If the links dont work for you with the cookies and all, just use the name i provided using search @ officedepot.com

Thanks Storm~

Hey storm1234,

Your absolutely right about the sleeve in the 510 Aluminum case causing scratch. I am currently using this very same case from meritline and can confirm that it does indeed leave these very faint hairline scratches on my disc. It seems like that those soft fabric in the back of the plastic sleeve is the main culprit for those faint hairline scratch. I find that the plastic sleeve itself is very tight(even tighter if both side of the sleeve is occupied)and as you slide the disc in and out, it create a lot of friction against the soft fabric and this friction is what causes those light scratch.

So far, those light scratches haven't cause any play-back problem for me but then again, I don't take my disc in and out that often. It pains me to know that I am scratching my precious disc each time I remove them and put them back in. I would never have ordered this case if I knew before hand that those sleeve would cause scratch.

I see most of you are using the meritline storage. I forgot to mention that slappa makes 2 sizes of dvd cases. The difference between the dvd and the cd cases is that the dvd one has room for the full sized dvd insert.

Check them out- they are great. You can find cheaper ones on amazon.

Im thinking about getting these sleeves, instead of the one the 510 case comes with. Because it doesnt have that hole in the middle of the sleeve. Its all open which I think could remove the pressure when removing the discs. And only using one side, cant find any with only 1 side. Also using jewel cases instead, but I have also heard they have a weakness possibly harming the discs eventually, forget how tho.

I also can still return the case, except that would be alot of work. I'm not sure what to do now. I dont think the sleeves will affect the discs enough inless you remove the discs alot. So I dont know, any other comments would be welcomed.

Thanks Storm~

Me 2... But its still usefull, if you have one already or already ordered it. Only bad part is its not werth the 50$ anymore, probably only 20 or so now. You can still work around the sleeves, imma see what I think up or decide to do. Well when you receive it, let us know what you think about it.

The reason for the scratches is not the fabric, it is the piece of plastic along the top that the numbers are behind. You need to bend this back, away from the recorded surface of your discs, when inserting and removing them; especially watch the corners... Do this, and you will be as happy with your case as I am with mine...

@teflonmyk

Like I said before in my previous post, I find these sleeves to be very tight. For my 8x TYG02 disc which are much thicker than the 16x MCC004, I find these sleeves to be "hecka" tight especially if both side is filled with them(TYG02). When both side of sleeve is filled with TYG02, it really feels like I have to exert a lot of strength to shove them down just to get them in and this puts a lot of pressure on them. This is especially so if the sleeve is new and has never been filled before.

You're right about the plastic number label at the top that can scratch your disc if don't bend them back before inserting or removing your disc and I learned this the hard way when I first got my case and insert a disc in it. However, even if you bend back the plastic number label at the top, you are only preventing that part from scratching your disc. If you look closely at these soft fabric, you will see that the surface is not really smooth and contains these small hair-like strand. Due to the tightness of the sleeve, a lot of friction is created when you slide your disc in and out. This friction with your disc constantly rubbing against the soft fabric will leave these small faint hair-like scratch on your disc. I totally stand by this statement of mine.

If you're totally happy with your case, then that's great. I'm just sharing my first hand user experience with this case to other member. My beef is not with the case itself but with the tightness of the sleeve. Like I said before, I wish I had knew about this problem before I ordered it.

Edit: Actually, on page 1 of this thread, Tralblazr mention something about plastic sleeve with little felts behind them sucks since they leave drag marks on his disc. I should have heed his warning.

Sorry, I never use those sleeve from office depot before so I can't tell you much about them. Form what I could tell from the picture, those sleeve seems to have the same type of soft fabric behind them so they might or might not leave scratch marks on your disc depending on the tightness of them. If you could easily slide them in and out without any friction, then they might not be a problem. Also, I noticed that they don't have any hooks on them so you can't hang them on the case like the original sleeve that came with the 510 case.

The difference between the officedepot ones, is the middle of the sleeve its all open, and also a different fabric i think. The black ones with the 510 case has that open spot in the middle but on top has plastic about half inch wide across the top above the hole. Which is what is making the black sleeves with the case so tight and putting pressure on the discs.

I can deal with out the hanging part if they dont cause scratches on discs, which is the big picture of it all.

If you dont understand what i mean i can show you using paint probably, so comment if you do or dont. im thinking about trying em out.
